I've just developed an interest in using memory wire and was puzzled at the different sizes. This video helped SO much! I'm small-boned and have a tiny wrist---5" circumference. I have to make my own bracelets as most fall off or hang down too much. Wire size small for me! Thanks!

I like your demos! I started making bracelets like yours in the 60's!! So glad to see them popular again!

They're just such a great eye catching look aren't they? We've been doing memory wire bracelets about 8 years and some years they're more popular for us than others, but we're always excited to use them to experiment with different styles and experiments, and people keep coming back to them.

Thank you Kat for this great demo, I love making memory wire bracelets, especially with the noodle beads which really highlight the crystal or fire polished glass beads, or gemstone chip beads that you put in between them. Thanks for showing how different size beads look on the small, medium and large sizes of memory wire. Merry Christmas to you and yours, love from Amanda in Australia xox

Hello Kat, my wrist measures 7 inches. I want my bracelet to be more of a bangle and I want the wire to be 18 gage round and I want the bracelet to go 1 1/2 times around my wrist. Is the 2.5 wire 18gage? Using 6 and 8 mm beads.

If I wanted to use a crimp bead on a memory wire bracelet, what size crimp bead would I use?
@beadaholique3 жыл бұрын
I would recommend a minimum of 2mm but if you are using heavy beads, a 2.5 or 3mm might be the way to go

Do you have a video for this particular bracelet that you showed?

@@aliciananyberg6761 We haven't done a video for those but they're similar in construction to this one we did a write up of: beadaholique.com/collections/beading-projects/products/moonshine-memory-wire-bracelet Instead of cutting three loops of memory wire you'd just cut one with a bit of overlap. Here are the bead mixes we used for those bracelets: beadaholique.com/collections/czech-beads/products/czech-fire-polished-glass-beads-8mm-round-crystal-gold-25 beadaholique.com/collections/czech-beads/products/czech-fire-polished-glass-beads-8mm-round-crystal-silver-25 beadaholique.com/collections/czech-beads/products/czech-fire-polished-glass-beads-8mm-round-apollo-gold-25

Thank you! Also, what is the smallest size beads you can fit on this wire?
@beadaholique3 жыл бұрын
The bracelet memory wire we used in the project is 22 gauge, so if you have any 22 gauge head pins or craft wire laying around you can do some experimenting. You can go fairly small, we've done several nice projects using standard 11/0 seed beads. You might be able to go as small as 15/0 as some bead manufacturers will keep a consistent hole size down to that size

Question, how can I figure my size? One time I bought one and made a beautiful bracelet that came out nicely tight and I loved the fit, but that was many years ago (didn't even know they come in different diameter sizes), so I just recently bought some at Walmart and it's very loose, I don't like it, it almost feel like is going to come off, mind you my wrist is very skinny, many times in my youth my wrists were compared to those children suffering from hunger, I grew up and my wrists never changed sizes, so I'm not sure which one to pick if the 2" or 1.75" I've seen on a website, is there a way to measure my wrist to figure it out? Thanks.

Hi Yadira, this video of ours on sizing bangle has instructions for how to measure your wrist for bracelets like this. Any ribbon tape measurer will do, but if all you have is a straight ruler you can cut a piece of string, wrap that around your wrist as shown, and then measure the length: kzbin.info/www/bejne/Y4anfamcf9Sbi80
