I bought and used these with GS hypo cement glue and they keep falling off - any tips?
@beadaholique4 жыл бұрын
It's possible G S hypo cement doesn't have enough body to completely fill in the gaps between the ends and the wire, E6000 is a little more forgiving because of its gel-like consistency. When using G S for this application make sure you clean the wire and the end before applying, get any oils from your fingers off of the metal. Don't be afraid to use a lot of cement, and most importantly let it dry for a full 24 hours before handling so that the cement sets fully.

Hi Just need some clarification, which end cap bead size should I get to fit an 18gauge memory wire, please. I notice the hole has an inner diameter of 0.6mm for the 3mm and 4mm bead
@beadaholique3 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately we haven't seen any good end caps that will fit 18 gauge memory wire. Some people use screw crimps ("scrimps") to finish larger memory wire sizes, but it looks like the scrimps we carry won't fit 18 gauge either.

How secure are they as far as how long it last when glued on?
@beadaholique3 жыл бұрын
They should be secure for many years. These memory wire ends are new to use but E6000 glue is something we've used for over a decade now and it's excellent at making strong metal-to-metal connections. To get the full strength leave the piece to cure for 72 hours before picking it up or wearing it. Once that's done you'll be able to feel how strong the connection is.

Any time I went to use the end caps on the memory wire bracelet, and I go to give it to somebody they were constantly fall off. What am I doing wrong because I use GS hypo cement
@beadaholique10 ай бұрын
All I can think of is maybe not enough glue is being used? I would try using more glue and then making sure it dries overnight before wearing. I hope this helps!

Actually, I recently brought some GS hypo cement. Does that work?
@beadaholique Жыл бұрын
Hi! Yes, it should work well for this application.

I am also having trouble with end cap staying on .I use E6000 when it dried I tried to pull off tacking bits maybe that is the problem
@beadaholique Жыл бұрын
That could be it. I have sometimes done something similar and accidentally pulled off the actual part that I wanted. It all tends to pull together when you try to get one section off.

My memory wire cutters are a little bit tall. How do I re-sharpen them?
@beadaholique10 ай бұрын
I have not come across a successful way to sharpen cutters. I think you could maybe take it to someone who sharpens knives but you might need to pay them the same amount as just buying a new pair cutters.

Is it OK to use Elmers glue or even a hot glue gun?
@beadaholique Жыл бұрын
I would say no to Elmers glue, it's just not strong enough. I have never tried a hot glue gun with these, so you can for sure try that and experiment. I worry about getting it into the tiny hole though without making a big mess - but I am always one to experiment so definitely give it a try.

No rose gold color for these yet unfortunately, just the gold and silver plate versions

What size is the is the memory wire?
@beadaholique4 жыл бұрын
It's 22 gauge, you can see the wire we used here: beadaholique.com/products/memory-wire-bracelet-round-size-large-2-50-inch-diameter-12-loops-silver-plated
@Decopainterandtea3 жыл бұрын
I tried this but when I tested the glue on end cap it came off.
@beadaholique3 жыл бұрын
Usually we we see this happening it's because the glue didn't have enough time to cure. E6000 is extremely strong, but it takes days to cure. Make sure you let the piece sit uninterrupted for 48-72 hours before you wear it. If you're still having things pull loose after that the end caps may be too big for the wire.

@@beadaholique Thankyou for taking time to answer my comment. Which size of the multi size end caps is best for the regular size memory wire?
@beadaholique3 жыл бұрын
@@Decopainterandtea We recommend these end caps with an inner diameter of 0.6mm, they fit standard 22 gauge memory wire well: beadaholique.com/products/end-caps-for-memory-wire-round-glue-in-5mm-diameter-20-pieces-silver-plated We've got them in gold too: beadaholique.com/products/end-caps-for-memory-wire-round-glue-in-5mm-diameter-20-pieces-gold-plated
