very good vid, simple explanation of a simple technique. for 20 years i made myself a set of 6" samples of the 7 sizes i use, that i keep hooked to my wire rack, then after using a hand over hand measurement of the branch, with a little extra, i cut off the perfect size and size from my spools. keep up the good work and vids.

Wow, that really looks like an old tree already. It reminds me a lot of an old maple that was growing in the woods where I grew up. A bunch of us kids in the neighborhood built a rickety treehouse in it. It is a miracle none of us fell to our death.

@@WeareTheBonsaiSupply oh, but I did :) My oldest is now 25 years in its vase, it's a 'pitanga' tree. Ive got many "jabuticabas' (Im brazilian), bugainvillias, ficus, about 200 plants, many of them pre bonsai + adeniums But Ive learned from my mistakes, as back then no instruction videos, plus living in a little town rarely would you see a bonsai magazine :P At the point of attaching stones to branches in ordem to bend them down,. Really!?!?!?! Lol But even knowing many 'tricks' learned over the years it's always cool your videos as some bits here and some bits there I learn even more :) Congratulations and keep on doing it, it's well worthy

Hey, thank you for the feedback! In my opinion, it can and should be classified as a bonsai. They use Adenium as Bonsai all over Asia, some of the best ones come out of Thailand.

Hey Fefe, I usually only do it once in their life times, if they don't thicken up enough through the hang dry method I might do it a second time. treat all adeniums the same.:)

Jerome on the really thick branches do you ever use a branch splitter to make the bend more cooperative????
@WeareTheBonsaiSupply
@WeareTheBonsaiSupply 4 жыл бұрын
I don't do it, but you could!. I just prefer to use guide wires so the branches move slowly over time.

Do you also wire small adeniums, or do you wait till it is big?
@getintothewildwithjeffruma8777
@getintothewildwithjeffruma8777 Жыл бұрын
You can wire small ones too. Just keep a close eye on them. Sometimes they grow fast when they are young and you don’t want the wire to dig in. I have a video on my channel showing how I wire small desert roses if that helps 👍

are there times that it is better to use 2 smaller wires rather than one thicker one?
@WeareTheBonsaiSupply
@WeareTheBonsaiSupply 4 жыл бұрын
Hey Jeffrey, yes, very good question! I would use two smaller wires when I wire 2 branches that each split into two more.
