How to choose towel bars & other bathroom accessories

When adding a towel bar next to a sink that will be used for smaller hand towels, cut the bar with hack saw to 16" so that it can be mounted with wood screws on studs behind the sheetrock at both ends of the bar (if you are lucky). Use a stud finder to see if this can be done for your installation. Otherwise, try to get at least one end of the towel bar into a stud behind the sheetrock with longer wood screws.
