Thank you for this video. my plumber installed a hot cold only tub / shower valve but i wanted the pressure and hot cold. I am so happy he chose Delta since your video means i don't have to ask them to install a new rough in!! I can just have them swap out the trim for the 17 version!! Phew!

very nice demonstration but seemed like probably too much water... i think once you had carpet moderately damp i think if you just placed the washcloth flat over slime and used iron trick the water you already had down would get really hot and you can keep rubbing slime when adding and removing heat from iron

Just a few years later and double flush changed a lot. Small flush is 3 liters versus 5 for the large. Standing toilets.....those haven't been around since the early 2000's. At least, not in show rooms. That must be a niche market. (am European)

Another tip for more space to get into and out of your car that I do as I am comfortable backing into the garage on the left side is that I back into the garage on the left side and put the right side in forwards. It gives the drivers side doors a larger common isle down the middle plus the way my garage is setup I had shelves down both the left and right so I'd to move the left side car too far over to allow access to the right side car. Also if backing in you can use the tape hack to stop at the correct time.

Good tips. If you have the walls open, consider installing wood blocking between the studs wherever you’re going to mount towel bars, toilet roll holders, etc. then you can use wood screws into solid wood rather than wall anchors. Super solid.

If you’re not tearing things apart enough to replace the venting pipe, then sometimes the actual airflow will be far below its rated cfm (that’s what happened to us). The solution was to install a Panasonic WhisperGreen fan which uses an airflow monitor to ramp up/down the fan speed to get the actual desired cfm. It only uses 7W vs the 95W of our old noisy fan because it uses an Electronically Commutated Motor (“brushless”).

After dealing with my in-laws’ skirted toilet twice, I agree 100% with you. 1) Interference with existing supply valve, 2) Impossible to tighten/change toilet seat without pulling the unit, 3) Impossible to add a bidet seat with its associated mixer valves blindly inside the back of the skirt without pulling the toilet out. Just horrendous. My first (and hopefully last) time dealing with these skirted monsters.

Quiet close toilet lids are great. They will wear out, but it will be a while. I like them for our upstairs, for sleep-time sake. Downstairs don’t care, no real need to avoid waking.

Thanks for this informative video. I was banging my head against the wall trying to decide which dual flush toilet I should buy. But after watching your video, I decided to go with a single flush model, based on your very logical rationale (1.1/1.6 GPF for Dual-Flush vs constant 1.28 GPF for Single Flush).
@MomCanFixIt23 күн бұрын
Glad it helped you make a decision!
@theOlLineRebel16 күн бұрын
1.6 is standard. You’re getting really low flow if you have a 1.28. It’s hard enough to make 1.6 work reliably without having to have the plunger always at the side of the toilett the ready.

@@scarpien I'm seeing lots of my childhood house American Standard 3 gal toilets for sale from older houses now. Since I'm moving into that home again, I'll be on the lookout for cleaned-out that have the wonderful colors like our old ones. Unfortunately only 1 remains so far. If the other cruddy replacement (boring white) go bad, I'll get the ones they were fitted with originally!
@scarpien15 күн бұрын
@@theOlLineRebel I think they're manufacturing vintage-looking (colors, etc.) toilets that meet the new low flow guidelines. You should look into it.
