Hey, Great videos. Thanks for your effort. Been working as a nurse for the past 32 years and looking for a stress relief with the current situation. These EUC's and one wheels have been on my radar for a couple of weeks. Your vids have helped me a lot. Just ordered the KS 16S as my first EUC. Keep making the videos. Love the family interaction. Great video, Jimmy. Something that really needed to be made. I ended up picking an 18X but wish i watched your video and would've bought the 16s. You're spot-on that the size of the 18x is pretty intimidating to learn on.

Great video, Jimmy! My first EUC back in July 2015 was the Fastwheel Eva Pro, a 12 inch EUC. Because of my background in rollerblading, skiing, and snowboarding, I was able to ride comfortably in about 4-5 hours total. That company Fastwheel is no longer around so no more 12 inch EUCs exist. I have since purchased 14 and 18 inch wheels, both from KingSong. I recently just purchased the Gotway MTen3 which is a 10 inch wheel. Definitely another learning curve with this really small 10 inch wheel. Very agile indeed. I wholeheartedly agree with starting with a 16 inch wheel to get into the EUC world. Jason McNeil of EWheels is the best and well recommended both at sales and after sales support.

I'm inclined to agree about not using smaller wheels to learn; I initially brought a dirt cheap, 12", low power wheel to dip my toe in the water, and it had to be the worst thing to learn on (especially as I had no easy access to a decent flat surface, and no walls to grab onto), it was incredibly unstable and could barely ride a few yards without coming off. Upgraded to a used Ninebot One E+ and was able to stay on it and ride over ten times that distance without support in a matter of hours. I think the added weight (and associated inertia), plus the larger tire contact area really helped. Now I just need to learn to do controlled turns and I'm nearly there! I should note that motorcycle boots might be a good recommendation for newbies as they have decent ankle protection against the inevitable bruises you'll get when practicing.

I agree with everything you said in this video. Yes, eWheels is a great supplier. Yes, 16" is a good starting size, though even smaller might not be bad either. The smaller, lighter wheels are easier to manage. I bought my Kingsong 16S last spring largely based on your recommendation and have been very pleased with it. And oh has it taken a beating during the learning process. But it still performs flawlessly. Can't wait for your 16S / 16X comparison.

Exactly one year ago I decided to buy my first electric vehicle. In january my inmotion v8 arrived. I bought it to be mobile when I visit big cities. I thought 30 kilometers range would be enough. But learning how to ride it was so much fun that I rode it almost everyday. Soon 30 kilometers weren't enough anymore, because it is only a hour and a half of riding. On 28th february I purchased my Kingsong KS18 XL that I still ride today. A few weeks after I bought the XL my V8 cut out on me. I didn't hurt myself but I asked Amazon, from where I bought it, to take it back. They refunded the whole price altough the wheel was scratched. I miss it until today but I couldn't trust it anymore. My XL is still reliable and I put more than 4000 kilometers on it. I use it for commuting, for going into the grocery store, for everything. A few wheeks ago I bought a Lacroix Nazare but I have to admit I rarely ride it. Now because of the weahter but I like the unycicle more.

Great insights Jimmy! I also think eWheels is a great company. I have only heard great things from people who have bought from them. I was about to pull the trigger on a Gotway MCM5 14” from them as my first EUC. However, I picked up the Kaabo Mantis hyper scooter instead. They were about the same price and I really wanted a hyper scooter. I like the mid-range EUCs for my commute and they are super portable at sub-50lbs. The Mantis can cruise at over 40MPHs very safely but it is also pretty big so it is much more cumbersome taking it on my commute. I only use it occasionally for commuting and mostly for speed errands around San Francisco. I will look into an EUC next summer when hopefully I will have another purchasing window after my wife has absorbed the Mantis purchase. By then I will likely be looking at one of the 84v-100v+ EUCs.

My first wheel was a 450€ KS14-S with 2000km on it. Rode like a dream, insane range, good power. Rode it for about 100-150 km, bought a used MSuper v3S+ with 1600wh and the 2000w motor (which is basically a preproduction MSX 84v) with 2500km and I ride it about 100km every week for about 750€. Now, I can't imagine a wheel that can't cruise to at least 45 km/h, even though when I first started I thought the ks14s would be all I need and 30 km/h was plenty fast...

At first I was planning to get an inmotion V5 (or V5f) because they werent the most inexpensive, but still in the low end of price. Then I thought I won't be able to buy a second one for a while so I should maybe save up a bit more and buy the next level up, a V8 (or maybe now the V8f) because it'll last longer. It's not the fastest by a long shot but I also dont want to get over confident with speed, and the price is still within a range that I like. A Kingsong in the same range might be possible give or take another couple hundred bucks, but I like the look of the Inmotions wheels more. As you might be able to tell, I've been thinking about this for while.

Hey Jimmy, great video as usual. Ive been thinking of getting a EUC. I started with a onewheel xr just like you. But after getting thrown off the board without feeling any kickback on it whatsoever, ive been kinda scared to ride it at speeds i feel comfortable with. Ive heard EUCs can reach much higher speeds, but what is you take on the reliability and safety measures. Ideally id like to ride between 20-30mph which i dont think is crazy for a EUC, but then i see videos of people getting thrown off of it and get scared.
@EUCRolling5 жыл бұрын
I'm not Jimmy but here are my thoughts and what other EUC riders talk about. I've been riding EUC (16S, 18L and Nikola 2100Wh) solo or with group rides for a while now . Here it goes: All around (Street and Dirt) wheel for range (70+ miles) and under 30 mph the Nikola 84v 2100Wh, over 31 mph less range Nikola 100v. Best dirt, less range wheel K16X. These EUC all have 16" diameter by 3" wide tire (is what you want) which is ideal for best all around performance. If you are located in the USA purchase from EWheels, customer support/service is number 1!

I will ride over 20 if I have full gear on but even then it's only for bursts and never for long periods. I can't afford to get hurt too badly. I just love to cruise. All devices are susceptible to failure, but the EUCs have more safety measures than the Onewheel at this time.
@MaximilianGros5 жыл бұрын
I ride since 11 month now and I fall twice. The first time was my fault. I tried to go up curb aslant. It didn't felt like I hurt myself but when riding home I noticed some moves hurt. A few hours later I had realy bad pain when moving my knee. Luckily it disappeared but it scared me and made me carefully. The secound time my Inmotion V8 cut out on me when accelerating. There was no beep. I didn't hurt myself at all but I returned the wheel and because I bought it from Amazon I got full refund. Since 9 month I ride a Kingsong KS18 XL, almost everyday and a lot of time until it beeps. I put more than 4000 kilometers on it and I never hat a big issue, nor I got hurt. I think modern EUC with a big battery and enogh power are safe. The biggest security risk is the driver so you should really be responsible when going so fast.
