Not to mention if it's a group choreography you must know the placements of EVERY member, where they'll change positions, when to change positions and how they change positions. Don't get me even start at levelling and layers.

Thanks for sharing. I came to dance relatively late in life... I'm 60 now and I started bellydance lessons five years ago! Your process is very interesting, completely different from my instructor. I really appreciate seeing your written notes. Your shorthand using arrows and other symbols makes COMPLETE sense to me. Now I have my notebook, and am beginning my own shorthand of my favorite music pieces. Thanks again for posting this, you made me smile today :)

I haven't watched the full video yet, and I don't know if you addressed this later on. But I was wondering how you would write your notes when you don't choreograph on the singing melody, but on the beats (instruments)?
@MarquesSalgadoVlogs
@MarquesSalgadoVlogs 3 жыл бұрын
I typically write 1,2,3,4 for the beat and write an x or T or lines to illustrate the sounds in-between. so i could do 1 x 2 xx 3 T 4. This says "1 and 2 and a 3 (high-hat) 4"

Love this! Do you use apps to slow the music down when you analyze or practice? Also, how about dynamic changes, spins, level changes, stuff like that- do you have a method for incorporating a certain amount of moving across stage vs static movements?

you could use sheet music just as well as this method. Though you would need your music theory or Atleast an understanding of timing (bpm) and music notes such as Quaver, quarter, etc.

This is really a big help for me as a begginer, thanx for this idea. Now i know how to count and incorporate with steps. My biggest struggle is how to make a move in accordance with the lyrics of the song. I dont understand how other choreographers match the counting together with the steps. I find it so hard or which part of the should i move and the nex or to what direction should it be. Hope you can help me with this.
