How To Chroma Key with Sony Vegas Video Editing Software

I was just about to throw in the towel with Sony VEGA 14 using Chroma Key. But you were the first person who showed me how to properly use the mask feature correctly. I couldn't remove the green tinting in the hair line of the subject. Now I can and it is flawless! Thank you very much!

Hello Jose, I am interested in making my own music videos and am wondering if you could recommend editing software. I am not really tecnically inclined so would like to try something that's user friendly, say like Serif movie maker. One entire project will involve chroma key and I need it to look top notch. Hello, I did absolutely everything, and it works to a certain point, since when I play the video I have green, white, and blue lines across the video? Not certain why. Hi Angel, Please check out this video about Sony Vegas and System updates: How to fix Sony Vegas - system updates if after this your video still shows those lines, try rendering the video in lower format. Here is the How to FIX Sony Vegas Rendering Problems and crashes video How to FIX Sony Vegas Pro 12 Rendering Problems and crashes if after checking that and it's all OK your video problem should be solved if not, upload the affected video to KZbin and see if the lines show up if they don't then your video card needs replacing. Video production reduces the life span of video cards and system processors by 49%, note this does not mean your computer needs replacing, it's still good to play games, use the internet emails etc it's only when video production and tasks are ongoing where a 100% processing power is needed, that will you find issues Thanks for watching. Hi, No, the two colours which are furthest away from our skin colour are blue and green. However, you can use any other colour, as long as the clothing you're wearing is different from the background. Also, lighting is important. Can Vegas chromakey using chroma (hue) instead of RGB? It's far superior. It's immune to shadows and non-uniform lighting. And I can wear a teal t-shirt and not have it disappear when I try to set the low and high thresholds. AFAIK, Premiere can do this. It's really frustrating that it can't.

Precisely. The high and low thresholds are because in reality the green/blue/white/black screen won't end up the exact same shade, different light and shadows or even the material itself will make differing shades.

when ever i try to move my over lay footage to the bottom my acors bottom half gets cut off just before the boder of the screen. I want his bottom half right against the bottom of the screen, or else it looks like hes cut in half floating in mid air. do i have to change the aspect ratio or something? there is the black strips on top and bottom

-do it, add the video to your track line then on 2 or more video tracks overlay solid colors by using the color picker tool, produce the video and then edit back to Movie Studio Platinum 12.0 apply the chroma key. Regards, Jose.

Hi, That's because the clothing you're wearing is too close in colour to the background shade. Make sure you use a different colour, as I'm showing in the video, I'm wearing a black T-shirt in this case, if I was wearing a green T-shirt I'd have problems. Regards, Jose.
