Best way to clean an rc is to fully strip it down an rebuild using the instruction booklet if you are able too then after cleaning is a good to oil an grease things car will look an run like new after that if the engine and servos aren’t too worn I’ll admit it will be quite daunting to some but I find it very therapeutic I buy old knackered rc cars for this reason
@nighthawkj30A43 жыл бұрын
I use Meguires Ultimate wash and wax mainly because I already have it. But also it leaves the rc clean and good smell to it. Get rids mostly of the smell of fuel.

Is this the way you would do it? The only reason I do it this way is because my time doesn't come cheap anymore and it's less expensive to just replace the bearings every season vs my time spent tearing it down, and still questioning the bearings later.

Dupont Teflon chain saver wax based lubricant.

I'm not familiar with Asperox, so I'm unsure if that would be to caustic.

Wash car without electronics and motor on it. When using watter your bearings get wet and rusty. So let it dry is not the best way. Use compresed air and use a lube for the moving parts and bearings. Servos and engine can be cleaned by hand (toothbrush or towel)
@HootBuilds2 жыл бұрын
We will have to see. It's been sitting in a box waiting to be rebuilt since I cleaned it.

@jeffalessi63173 жыл бұрын
Lmao. I wonder how many kids destroyed there cars after watching this video. That thing may be water resistant but it’s not a good idea to have water anywhere near the engine or electronics. In the beginning I use to take them out and wash the car with water and simple green, even that caused water to get in places under the diff cases and rust the bearings and cause little spots in the drivetrain to stiffen up from rust. If u leave your car in the sun without atleast blowing it off your stuff with be visibly rusty. Not worth it. Clean it correctly or just leave it dirty.
@narrowempress16252 жыл бұрын
'we do not want the foams inside the tires to get wet' i would rather get the foams wet than my car, engine or electronics. i agree with just leave it dirty

@@HootBuilds are you reoiling bearings and driveshafts? Did you check and make sure water didnt get into the pipe? There's alot of places the water and dirt is being pushed into. like hinge pins, shock boots, clutch, under the servos, radio tray and engine. Just saying. I've learned from experience. Car looks clean, but is it really?
