I own an early 70's serries 870 Wingmaster 20 g and I found this video to be the easiest to follow and well thought out.

I just recently purchased a remington 870 pump..they have always been a favorite just never owned one till now. Your demostration on cleaning was excelently done but i had far more trouble with reassembly but your demo helped greatly..thanks

Haha yeah I just bought my first one today and had a little trouble getting that bolt group back into the receiver. I’m sure it gets easier every time you do it hence why it looks so easy on video for people who have done it 100 times

had my 870 for prob 10 years and haven't done a full clean on it. All ive done is bore brushed the barrel. Thanks for the detailed video explaining everything it will be a big help when I clean mine

Thanks for the video. The most difficult part was what you said. I had to depress the right side first and it went it further just a little, then I pressed the left side in and it worked…

Good video. Just one thing... The entire trigger assembly- I think it was completely skipped.

Just finished cleaning mine. Thank you for the thorough video. Made it a piece of cake. It take me. Couple of tries to get the bolt back into the receiver but once I got the tabs on both sides out of the way, worked like a charm. Thank you.

Outstanding comprehensive video. Most I've seen before this one didn't actually show a novice how to remove the forend assembly. Without knowing how to manage the carrier it's not that intuitive. Thanks Zack! I also like their gun specific TexMat, which makes a lot of sense.

Comprehensive?… he didn’t even take the trigger group out LOL

11:06. On the 870 express, there is a left and right shell latch that has to be pressed to get the slides to go back in.

Rem oil that's all you need to clean, lube and protect your 870

Solid video, better than Hoppe's video because it was a little too quick. Function test afterward would have been nice. I like the mat, I'll look to get one.

Great video…Do you have a video for cleaning a Remington 870 Express Tactical? Would appreciate to see you break it down, cleaning it and reassembling back together. It would help me so much. Thanks

It’s the same, but there is a left and right shell latch. Took me an hour to figure that nugget out.

Very nicely explained. Does the choke or choke threads need any special attention? Also, do you put protectant inside the barrel?
@TekMat5 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching and your comment! For the choke I usually just clean it when the bore is cleaned with the bored brush. On occasions after a good amount of use I like to unscrew the choke and inspect the threads for damage or wear, then brush it with some cleaner, and wipe away the grime that may build up over longer periods of time. For putting protectant inside the barrel if you will be using it soon after the cleaning it's best to keep the bore dry. If you will be storing the Shotgun for a longer period of time without firing putting a light amount of protectant inside the bore would be ideal to prevent rusting/corrosion, then before using it again cleaning out the bore with dry patches. Thanks for the questions! Feel free to ask anything else.

Just as Zack said the choke tube will get cleaned as you clean the barrel, with the occasional detail scrub. I also apply a thin coat of anti-seize grease/paste that is used for spark plugs to prevent the choke tube from getting stuck in the barrel permanently

Hi there, thanks for the video. One question though, is any part of the cleaning procedure change if the shotgun is a camo version?

Guns are designed to be used with minimal oil. You will only accumulate dust and gunk if you over oil the weapon…causing failure
@williamphillip9749 Жыл бұрын
@@MikieJoe6555 think you should watch the vickers tactical video where he dunks his rifle in motor oil and in runs just fine. He managed not to attract any dust even..
