Should clean the breach face upside down to prevent debris and solvent from entering the firing pin channel.

It's a striker fired pistol it has a striker not a firing pin
@reverendguns Жыл бұрын
I'm glad you're trying to be helpful, but your choices are striker fired or hammer fired. Both use a firing pin. Striker fired pistols have a firing pin and spring combo within the slide. Hammer fired is a hammer hitting the firing pin. He is talking about the little hole where the firing pin protrudes to hit the primer. He is wanting to prevent anything from getting into that hole so debris doesn't get in the channel for the firing pin and spring.

I just got done deep cleaning mine. Havent shot in in forever had it for over 3 years. Im starting to like it again, seems smoother than my g19 gen 3. Do you know what factory guide rod spring lb they come with ? And a good after market steel one to put in. I was wanting to get a light one, like 15lb spring with a ss guide

I have the sd40ve. I believe it came with a 16lb guide rod spring. I upgraded to a stainless steel guide rod and 20lb spring. No issues with it. A lighter spring will cause more recoil and could possibly make the cycle too fast. NDZ Performance has the part for 16.99

@reverendguns I got a 13lb for my glock 19. And the slide will bearly close over the top of the chamber 😅 but it still ran. Yeah I think I'm get the 15lb ss rod I was looking at one there for my SD. I like the lighter racking when clambering a round. But I guess that come with added recoil

When cleaning your barrel when you pull the brush backwards it's the same thing as pushing the brush through the front it's okay on a pistol but I would never do it on a rifle you should push it through and unscrew the bruh head.

Yes, you can do it like that too

I can’t take the slide off, I’ve watched dozens of videos, it just doesn’t slide off easy at all. It’s like there’s something holding it…..

You have to make sure both tabs of the slide release are pulled completely down.

@@reverendguns i figured it out, i have to have the magazine in place. I am in california, i guess its a CA thing? thats what the guy said at the gun store!
@reverendguns2 ай бұрын
The only thing I can think of that's different for the CA model is that it has a magazine disconnect mechanism. But that shouldn't affect how the gun is taken apart. All it does it make sure that the gun won't fire a round if the magazine is not completely inserted. Which is a handicap when doing a tactical reload. I'm curious to get ahold of one now and look at it lol

Those pull down clips suck and are hard as hell to pull down
@reverendguns Жыл бұрын
Yes, they are. I believe apex tactical offers a replacement. It extends them a little and makes it easier to operate. I installed them on this one.
