How to Clean a Throttle Body on a 98-02 Honda Accord

Hello guys thought i cleaned my tb on my daily today was Really Dirty. I noticed it when i would Turn on the car sometimes It had a very low idle cleaned it Drove it for a bit and then cleaned it again Now its a normal nice smooth idle 👍

Check your IACV = idle air control valve

I know this is an old video but when I first turn my car on when it's cold. it will rev up too like 2000-2200 rpm for a couple seconds then go back too normal rpm, I know it is supposed too have a higher rpm off a cold start so it warms the engine faster however Im not sure if mine is going too high because the throttle body needs cleaning

The rpm will be high no more then 1200rpm and when it warns up it drops to 700-900 rpm ideal 8s 700 rpm.

I recommend cleaning out your throttle body plate anyway because it's good to have it nice and clean versus gunk and slimy that will affects the engine performance.

Hello I have a 98 Honda accord and it vibrates only when it’s cold when I stop but it only on the first 2 or 3 stops, it has shut off on me o few times, but when it warms up it works fine, I changed the spark plugs and cleaned the throttle body, any idea what could be the issue. Thank you.

Check the iacv and the freon pressure, that usually is the issue

​@@jloza9840did u check pgm-fi little module under the dash above your brake pedal. Reflow the cracked solder joint fixed my car not starting on hot days.

Miguel Gutierrez doing this is good for many reasons performance idle and mpg i did it because i would notice my gas pedal was like sticky so i cleaned it and it did the Job

Check your vacuum hoses check your idle air control valve or aka IACV check your plugs check your timing most likely if it’s not that serious clean the iacv behind the TB

Some times even when it's cold it takes like 2 or 3 tries to start it cranks over. And then when it does fire. I get a check engine light but if I shut off and start again it fires up no problem and no check engine light could that be throttle body ? I was told some sensors and shit from the oilchange placei. Go to I've noticed they give fancy names for shit. Like I've drip to clean my cat and my o2 sensors and everything but all seems like bullshit is any of that legit and also should I try to clean throttlebody I'm trying to find a video how to fully take appart and clean

Throw a fuel system cleaner. And try changing your spark plugs see what that does. Hope this helps also try and getting a cheap code reader so you can catch that code it’s throwing at you when it’s cold. 👍
