Thank you so much for the informative video!! Even the little things like “with the key on” really helps remind a person!! I have a question : You spoke about if the levels are lower than .5 and 5 but what if they are higher? Does that change anything ? What would you do differently if anything? The one that is in there is off a different Honda, but was working great till yesterday then threw check engine code and she had to gimp it to me. Throttle pedal had been sticky for a bit and we meant to clean it and even had the cleaner here to do it but my husband passed away suddenly last month and we’ve been distracted :-( Thank you so much for your time making this video and in advance for any info you offer :-)
@ktecgarage5 ай бұрын
I am very sorry for your loss.... Stay strong. I'm sure that's what your husband would have wanted. As for the voltage, the sensor only gets 5v from the chassis, so it would not go above that. Under .5v would mean that the sensor needs to be rotated , as shown in the video. The .5v and 5v would be in a perfect world. It just needs to be close, and it should function fine. If the pedal is sticky, be sure to lubricate the cables where they attach to the throttle body and where the cable goes back into the plastic tube where it is mounted to the intake. Good luck!

@@ktecgarage I know you’re right and I sure am trying! Make sure to never take your wife for granted! I used to say don’t sweat the petty things and don’t let the sweaty things, but I didn’t follow those after … never mind, anyways it was reading .97 consistently and 6 when full throttle ? What would cause that ? The ECU? Or maybe bad tester ? It’s same as the one you had in the video ? :-/ Thank you again for your time and for making the video !!! It helped save a bunch of time and that is a much more treasured commodity these days! 🙏👍

Sorry...At 16:11 you tried to get the TPS to have 5.0V when the throttle is fully open. How did you get to near 5V without changing the calibration for the 0.5V when the throttle is not fully open? It seems that one would need to hold the throttle to fully opened position and adjust the TPS at the same time? Would that mess up the 0.5V calibration when the throttle is not fully open? Thanks.
@ktecgarage10 ай бұрын
It's seems to me that it's most important to get the reading right at wide open throttle. I don't know that you could get an aftermarket TPS to be perfectly 0 and 5v.

@@ktecgarage almost definitely. Just having a problem getting it calibrated because I don't have a multimeter and everywhere I go I can't use one or nobody has one or it's way out of my price range. Have any ideas?
@ktecgarage2 жыл бұрын
To be honest, you probably won't notice a difference without the calibration so long as it's close. You can probably find multimeters for less than $20 at Harbor Freight or Walmart, but if it runs and drives fine, you will be OK.

@alfredobrown Do the rear brake lights work when you press the brake pedal? Also, check the back-up/reverse light fuse. On the under hood fusebox, check the fuse that is labeled "Stop" on top of the box.

Also, there is a slot above the PRNDL on the gear selector. Remove the plastic cover and insert a key into the slot and it will release the shifter until you get it figured out.

As if alittle colouring of dirt in the throttle body is really going to effect the sensors that much, are they really that sensitive to make the idle so rough or stall the engine?
@ktecgarage2 жыл бұрын
A dirty throttle body is very noticible with a manual transmission. When the clutch is engaged, the engine falls to idle quickly and the throttle body will catch it at idle and stop there. When it is dirty, it is slower to catch the RPM and causes stalls. The blade is barely cracked open at idle and any dirt interferes. So yes, it is that sensitive.
