On my mower the 3 springs under the cover marked with the blue 30 in your video were packed with dirt. The forward and reverse pedals would stick, cleaning out the dirt fixed the problem. I didn’t have to remove the transaxle to do this but I did have to separate the plastic cover by snipping a tab connection. Someone has a video on how to do that.

I'll just keep my 25 year old MTD and 30 year old Murray both with a 12hp briggs and belt driven with absolutely no problems

There’s a lot more debris under the plastic cover, believe me, just did mine, what a nightmare

Is cleaning needed of shift rack under the dust covers.

Mine would not drive just a bad variator. Replaced and now good to go vs a new trans.

Now I know what my recycled plastic bags were used to make.

I’ve got one and just replaced the belt and it’s not moving… Feels like it’s slipping.

Wow just wow, move the rod grab a hand full and use a shop vacuum for the rest done and don't forget to replace the axle seals but after watching your video you'd probably setup an operating room for that

The 'repair' shop said I had a bad transmission. I did this and it's as good as new. $900 vs. an hour of my time. 🤔

I have one of these transmissions in a Husqvarna YTA22v46. What a poor design. Grass and leaves get up under not only this pulley, but also under the brake assembly which prevents the linkage from the brake to descend all the way down which prevents tension from being fully applied to the transmission drive belt which results in the tractor moving slowly. Videos show you having to drop the cutting deck to get to this area where the debris piles up under the brake linkage. The design engineers screwed up on this one.

IMHO best solution is to avoid owning one of these, but if you already do blowing the thing out with a compressor (or even a leaf blower) after each use might help.

Why wouldn't you blow all of the debry on the whole transmission? Just curious

I use a wand of copper tubing. It can reach into those areas to blow out debris after each use. My neighbor first owned it. After 90 hours, Gave it to me disgusted with himself for buying a crappy design tractor. After cleaning out a ton of debris and regular cleaning, It’s been working fine about 200 hours for me.

how do you get more gear oil into it?
@1STGeneral4 жыл бұрын
Under the front pulley. If you're concerned about grease lost from failed axle seals the manufacturer gt says the unit is over filled new and no grease is needed after seal replacement

General Transmission has a service bulletin for that. Likely not needed.

Is cleaning need for shift rack under the shields?
@Thomas-ul3uy11 ай бұрын
@@rogergoodwin5533yes, but have to remove transmission, fwd pulley on transmission and then remove cover. Clean debris from top of transmission and shift cam area, then reassemble.
@Thomas-ul3uy11 ай бұрын
Owners not keeping mower clean of debris is the only fallback of this transmission. Otherwise it is a good transmission.

Why don’t you tell us what you’re doing? Instead of put it in words.

White writing on a white background makes for a poor video.
