You are the best saddle cleaner I have viewed. You pay attention to the details (I am hard to please because of my training) however, you did an excellent job and appear to be very patient - top marks. I do believe saddles should be taken apart for a thorough clean occasionally as the clean gets to parts not so easily accessible.

It really depends on how much use it gets. As a general rule I deep clean it like this every 3 months or so.

How do you restore a rough out saddle

Good question, if it’s suede type leather I use a wire brush to gently scratch away the top damaged leather. It can revive the leather and give it a fresh look. Don’t go too deep or press too hard or else you’ll strip it bare.
