I’m cooking them now! I bought the fully cooked ones and poured the sauce out and added water and her ingredients and cooked for 2hrs. One fell out the pot and I tried it and it was good. Letting it cook one more hour and these babies will be good ta go😂😂

@ every chitlin I’ve ever cleaned as a child was a tube. Aunt Bessie uses the cecum which is not the part of the intestines we're all use to buying. Look it up. It doesn’t have the texture. Girl I promise I say I go back and forth but I haven’t bought a bucket since I learned about aunt Bessie😂🤷🏾♀️. My grandma isn’t here to help me anymore.

But you know mines were just a little tough but I had to cook them two hours extra than I would have had to cook Smithfield And I got a lot more of the Smithfield’s than I got of the aunt Bessie’s usually I marinate my chitlins over night in Italian dressing and that makes them melt in your mouth tender but I did not marinate the aunt Betsy‘s but the next time I will do this💕

I am so so sorry it took me so long to comment but I found my cast-iron pot from a store in Sylacauga Alabama named Ollies or you can find them at dirt cheap they take off a discount in the store and then when you make it up to the register they take another discount off I love to shop cheap😂😂😂😂😂 for instants I just bought a Christmas tree for $349 at dirt cheap My in-store discount was $100 when I made it up to the register the Christmas tree did not cost but $60…OK💕

I just discovered that I bought the wrong brand of pkg chitlins. Went to the supermarket to get Aunt Bessie's, and that slick store had a brand called Audie's in a freezer labeled Aunt Bessie's!! The Audie's pkg is the same color as Aunt Bessie's, so you can easily make the mistake. Happy Thanksgiving! and thanks for sharing!

Ppl tend to remove too much of the membrane for the sake of clean chitterlings. But they remove the flavor. There was no need to remove the membrane from those chitterlings. Just remove any debris.

Your chitterlins look real good I had my sister go get me a bag of chitterlins and they were not aunt Bessies her chitterlins are the best she got me uncle Louis and they were the worst I didn't have to do much to aunt Bessies last year but I did pull the membrane off I will be the only one eating them again because my family here don't eat them there were only three of us who would eat them and that was me my mom and sister in California who would eat them and they are delicious when cooked right

I love chitterlins I didn't like how she kept putting the spoon in the spices then using the same spoon to stire them with and she kept repeating herself the chitterlins where I am cost 27.99 for the bag and 34.99 for the 10 pound bucket

I bought 2 packs of Aunt Bessie's chitterlings and boy was I disappointed. They did not taste nothing like maybe IBP ones. They were very pricey too

You say "how to clean AND cook chitlins. I thought they were ALREADY CLEANED BEFORE being bought??? BTW...leave salt alone. Chitlins as well as most meats already have salt simply because they WERE a living animal. If you have high blood pressure and/or hypertension...cut salt out of your diet. All seasonings shouod be powder based NOT salt based. For your own health...no strokes or heart attacks.

Yes you are absolutely right but they do sell them at a certain time of the year and then it is hard to find them so if Ican’t get aunt Bessie‘s I get Smithfield‘s it takes a long time to clean them almost 2 1/2 hours but they are just as good💕
