Us Greeks don't cut the as those stems have lots of nutrition. Just a good wash and scrub . Boil with salt until soften and the Color goesdark.We eat them with olive oil and lemon. The tea is great with lemon as well. Just a suggestion how we always eat them. Enjoy!

Yummy, you should try the way I like dandelion; take your washed greens and in a skillet with some olive oil, fry 3 or 4 very large, thinly sliced garlic cloves, on medium to low heat, when they are done, sprinkle with sea salt, and mix with thinly sliced boiled potatoes. Drizzle to taste with apple cider vinegar. Serve hot, or cold. That's my favourite potato salad.

There's something different about the dandelions in this video compared to the ones that grow around here. You seem to get way more leaves on a single plant for one, and the stalks themselves are thicker than even very late season dandelions stalks.

ok, im not picking on you , i am giving you huge credit,im sure you collect your own too. these so-called weeds are a miracle of hidden knowledge . i have found about 50 i feel comfortable eating but the dandelion is consistently the one that is always there where you are its seems to be there. and the plantain,which is great broad leaf or narrow, but they dont taste too great. Soo THANKYOU FOR THAT, i can id these plants but i am a lousey cook. i make pesto out of them and many of the other greens, mix in salads with the yummier ones like miners lettuce,chickweed and purslane. then dump some oil and vinegar on them to mask the bitter, or just force it down, sometimes i mix with eggs, or the nastier things make tea. the bottom line is eat these things and they will make you healthy. my hero is li ching yeong that is what he did, he lived 256 yrs and was beloved by everyone. he applied this . i hope people realize the wild natural plants are the secret to good health, no need to plant ,water ,buy seeds and its all free. i even eat dirt,clay, charcoal ,sand,ashes,diatomaceous earth, zeolite(silicas) and the pollens ,pine is my favorite.i believe it fixes the progesterone overload causing much breast cancer and prostate. Good luck and hopefully people will read this. shawn

Hello Maria, I am not the video uploader but i can tell you what was said if you are still interested. She took the leafy green parts of dandelion (stem and leaf) washed them thoroughly, then gently boiled in salt water until the greens were limp and flexible but not mushy. She then strained and poured a generous helping of olive oil and squeezed half a fresh lemon over the greens. She bought hers from a store but lots of people enjoy dandelion because they can forage it in the wild (or even most backyards) If you pick your own just make sure you have the correct identification, and that the area has not been sprayed with pesticides. All parts of the plant may be eaten from the roots to the flower, and contain numerous health benefits, but it can be a bit bitter, that is why people boil in salt or add other flavors such as lemon, garlic, pepper, oils, or whatever you think would be enjoyable. Hope that helps :)

Why soak and pour them into a strainer if you're trying to get the dirt and sand off? You should use a colander in a bowl that is larger. Fill with water, keep rinsing while you LIFT the leaves out by hand or the entire batch with the colander... Watching her pour the dirty water over them was really annoying. :-/
@TheGreekVegan7 жыл бұрын
Robert, trust me - this is the most effective way to rustle the dirt out. Rinsing simply doesn't get it all. You'll never crunch on an unpleasant piece of dirt if you wash them this way :)
@toomanynarcissistshere21027 жыл бұрын
I said "fill the bowl with water"... It's the same as you did, but with a colander to lift everything out at once. THEN the leaves could be given an ADDITIONAL final rinse. YOU, on the other hand, poured the SAME dirty water BACK onto the leaves... Go ahead and end this with "Robert, I don't wanna argue, I'm just eating clean, without the drama"... You don't even acknowledge the dirt on the bottom of the bowl, all you see is how YOUR life is perfect and you're infallible... I wasted my time with someone who's living in a different world, in a bubble filled with unicorns and silly stuff like that... Again, you poured the dirt, from the bottom of the bowl, BACK onto the leaves, end of story.
