That before and after looks more like a lighting difference than a protective coating. Also I think you should do a before and after of a few months of wear vs no clear coat and clear coat.

I really don't like using areosol cans.... I don't like getting the product everywhere. if i were to dip a chain, and run my fingers down the chain to break up the hardness, would that be ok?

Great question! The length of time the coating lasts depends on the use or abuse the jewelry goes through. Earrings and pendants tend to last longer than rings. Some people are really hard on their rings. The coating can last anywhere from 1 year to many years before it needs to be reapplied. What type of jewelry would you like to coat with ProtectaClear?

My spray always looks bubbled on the metal. I clean it well first with alcohol but always get bubbles whether its copper, brass or sterling. Doesn't matter how close or far away, the temperate/humidity, etc... How can I get a nice, smooth coating with the spray? For reference, I rarely have that same problem when using the liquid in a can.

Also, at the end of the video, the presenter should’ve worn gloves to prevent the transfer of skin oils to the sealed chain. Even though the skin oils can’t penetrate the sealant coating, they will lie on top of it, dulling the shine.

I recently bought a small bottle of your liquid and planning on making layer over my gold plated rope chain. My chain is much thinner than in this video, it's 3mm (Rope). My question is when it's dry and I need to break it a bit to remove stiffness, will it damage my plating ? What about flaking of your dry solution at break points ? Can you see anything on it ?

Thanks for your order. It is much easier to spray chains. If you purchased the liquid, you can use a PreVal sprayer that you can purchase locally for under $10. You can find locations that sell them at www.preval.com. They are an aerosol can with a glass jar that you can pour your liquid into. When you remove the stiffness, just run the chain gently through your fingers and the bonds will break. ProtectaClear is practically invisible so you cannot see it. ProtectaClear will help protect the plating from wearing off.

Microfiber cloths work very well to clean and polish jewelry. They are lint free and come in different colors. Are the blue cloths you ask about microfiber?

Yes, you can dip the chain in ProtectaClear. Hang and let the excess run off and if there is coating between larger links, you can blow out the excess coating with canned air. Once the coating is dry, run the chain through your fingers to break the bond between the links. Spraying is a better choice for chains. Many people use Preval sprayers or aerosol cans. There is less bonding with spray application of ProtectaClear.

If you watch the video, she clearly says MAAS polish, and shows the container. I watched the whole video and I do not see where she says anything about prevail.com... But there is preval.com (no letter I), where you can check out the Preval sprayer. I have used the ProtectaClear before and it is great.

Hi Terri, Thanks for asking. We like MAAS polish. It polishes really well - it has jewelers rouge in it and does not contain acid so you can skip the neutralizing step.
