Hey Addictive Tips! Nice methods you mentioned there! I am just curious and I am afraid to change the boot time in order to boot faster the next time I boot my laptop because my HP may become unstable in the future, I don't know... other than that, thanks a lot! Now we will enjoy a nice, cleaner and faster Ubuntu! :)

My Desktop PC has one GB RAM and 1 GB SWAP Partition. I want to upgrade to Ubuntu 20.04 from Ubuntu 16.04. Can I create 3 GB SWAP partition so as to meet 4 GB RAM requirement for installation of Ubuntu 20.04?
@EdwardSnowden1253 жыл бұрын
Why would you do that just get debian stable it takes like 350mb ram and ubuntu is based on debian so its a win win
@kkppelot62703 жыл бұрын
if you can you should try to get more ram like 6 GB of ram.

Ubuntu 20.04 slows down with multiple desktop interfaces installed. Saved 60 seconds by removing unwanted DEs. Also why worry about the grub menu, just hit enter unless that is "too much work".
@abyzz62524 жыл бұрын
can you explain this to me?
@pfranklin2 жыл бұрын
From our experience, after choosing the best distro and best desktop for you, simpler is better. We have had issues with conflicts where dual boot or multiple desktop environments are involved. This is extremely obvious if you try to dual boot Windows and Linux. Windows does not play well that way. If you want a suggestion, we use Xubuntu. All the power of Ubuntu with a fast, light weight, and interface (XFCE).

GREAT VIDS! BUT....Some of use who, are unlucky, to have what is known as "seeing impaired," and so we can NOT see, even tho we have the DPI on our distros at 125 - 150 "AND" the Zoom on our browsers set a 175% we don't see the commands that you so "kindly" provide in you video! So to make a video that us other people can see, why not expend the view at least twice- or three times the window size view? AND. . . leave the commands in the vid's description! And again thank you for YOUR "how tos!"

Windows is only good for game that aren`t on steam or whatever platform and Nvidia drivers work there as they`re proprietary . BUt I , for one , am tired of their updates over updates and 9999999999 processes in the background . Lastly , with windows , it might crash when least expected , get a virus or whatever . With linux none of those exist , you get true reliability ! so , as my main driver , I use linux and have another ssd with windows just in case I feel like playing a game but that`s about it . Linux is better and also eats so little resources .. unreal ! In windows I had like 7 to 9 GB of RAM used when just browing internet and playing music or something , whilst on Linux , I haven`t broken the barrier of 4.7 GB of Ram and the CPU is not even touched... barely 10-15 % usage even with like 10 tabs , 5 apps , browsing and downloading torrents and whatever . BTW I have 32 GB of Ram as I need them for games every now and then :) still it`s weird only this little is actually used ... an average of 3 GB ... wow linux , this is the future !
