You are very welcome. Today is our day to decalcify. As full-timers, and based on the amount of water we use (those LONG showers), we do it about three times a year.

Thank you for making this video. We ran out of propane on our rig and somehow the switch got moved to the "Clean" cycle and I couldn't figure out what was happening with the constant blinking lights. We haven't seen the amber warning light, but the main selector switch was blinking off and on for the past couple of months. I couldn't find the original manual so I downloaded it and wasn't able to see what I needed to stop the blinking. I ran across your video and now everything makes perfect sense. We've been in this RV full time since July 2022 and have yet to do the decalcification cleaning so tomorrow I'm getting some tablets and will do that job properly.

I noticed you did not mention one of the last steps. I didn’t notice it until after you were done flushing the system a second time. Looks like you missed turning the dial back to clean while doing the last flush. Thank for a good video.

Thanks for the comment! I will double check the instructions, but I dont think you ever turn the dial back to clean once you move out of it.. It takes a good 8-10 gal of water to clear the clean "blinking". You'll know that from experience if you ever accidentally turn your dial to clean, it's a bit of a process to clear it. You'll only make that mistake once, like we did :) The feedback is important, want to give full/factual info so i will dig into it to verify. Thanks Aaron.

I don't know for sure, but quite some time. The furnace will empty is so much faster!!!

Is there any reason why after the 3 hours decalcification is done that you leave the yellow handle down and flush out the truma tank and filter then replace them and go inside to continue bleeding the air from all hot water outlets except the dish or clothes washers? Perhaps it's closed off when the handle is down but if not in winterize position it seems like it should flush. Just a thought.

@@gfexplorers Yes, it works as you described. I am curious why it takes 8 gallons to get it flushed out and thought perhaps flushing with the filter handle open might shorten that time, but it could extend the amount needed. Just a thought as to why it needs approximately 8 gallons.

My water has all of the sudden started smelling like chemicals from the sync and showers. Any ideas why? I checked with all my neighbors and their water is fine, so it’s not city water.

@@gfexplorers no I haven’t done anything to the water yet. One morning all of the sudden the water came out of our faucets/shower, when it filled up the sink it looked like carbonated water; very bubbly (it wasn’t like there was air in the system) and smelt like a chemical.

Yes, exactly! I have so much hair I NEED my on -demand water heater! Oh, and long hot showers are great too!
