NOTE!!!! I apparently used the wrong glue for the sewer connections which are ABS and not PVC. That said, the primer/solvent didn't seem to hurt anything (not needed on ABS), and the PVC glue worked fine. Obviously not the right glue for the job, but checking the connection a week later, it is still solid. I guess time will tell if it will be a problem. But use ABS glue if you do this project.

The only time I use different glue is on hot water pipes.

Martin with RV Street is great. I only discovered him in the last six months. Jared from All About RVs is also great and has good production and a sincerity to him. RV with Tito is also a good channel. There are others as well. Every one has their own way of presenting things, and personality, production, and charisma playa huge role in whether that channel works for you or not. Some RV’ers (like Chad) are very self reliant, and others, not so much. The other thing about the different channels is they’re always fixing different things from one another, so between them all, hopefully someone is doing the thing you need to learn about.

Another great video. I never thought about permanently installing the gate valve. I may do that since I love having it. I use it to increase my gray water volume by dumping gray into the black tank and, don't tell anyone, I flush ,y black tank using my gray water when I dump. When my gray is full, I dump the black and back flush it with the gray water, leaving some gray water in the back so I always have liquid in my black tank. Great job, Brudda!

correct me if i'm wrong but those sewer pipes are abs not pvc. if i'm correct, you are using the wrong pipe cement. abs cement is the yellow stuff and does not use a primer. pvc pipe is usually white or gray, it is commonly used for swimming pools and electrical conduit. pvc is black and is used for sewer lines, both in rvs and homes
@ChangingLanes2 жыл бұрын
You might be right.. But, it glued on and leak checked just fine. Looks like the glues are similar but ABS doesn't require the primer/solvent. But it didn't seem to hurt anything either.
@stevem2682 жыл бұрын
@@ChangingLanes it will stick for while but it wont last. those "glues" for both abs and pvc are solvent weld adhesives just like the model cement we all used as kids for plastic models. plastic models are polystyrene and use a different adhesive as well. i would strongly recommend you remove the valve and redo it. it will come off when the glue is dry!

I wanted to share with your readers that I purchased 3 of the aluminum tank Mopeaka propane sensors. While judiciously attempting to separate the outer plastic support ring from the inner ring, 2 of them broke! I think it is prudent to advise your readers that after contacting mopeaka about the situation, they have not responded at all? There were no instructions for how one should separate the two rings, however, it appeared to be rather intuitive that the flat blade of a screwdriver inserted in the slot on the tab over the catch barb and gently prying up would be all one would need to release the tabs? I don't know what else I may have done to mitigate breaking the rings? Replacement support rings are $6 each so it appears that if I intend to use the sensors, I'm going to have to shell out another $12+shipping? Caveat emptor!
