It took me a couple of tries, but "YES" it finally worked, did everything that was shown in the video and it worked great. Thanks for doing the post, the second time I let it soaked it and I believe that made the difference. The first time it has been cleaned in 10 years.

Mine is over 10 years old and only now does it appear to need cleaning. Hopefully cleaning as opposed to buying a new printhead.

I used walmart ammonia free window cleaner - my print head was clogged with black ink. I used swabs to wipe off the "clots" then soaked it for a few minutes, then flushed & flushed with slow running water from the tap. Set it outside to dry in the sun - inserted it with new inks - and voila PERFECT & CHEAP! Thank you!

@@303electronics I guess I'll give it another try. already soaked once. Actually error message changed to printhead...lift latch and re-seat. I've done that a gazillion times. So, I really don't know if the flush worked or not.

Thank so much. I wish I had seen this a week ago. I have a 7500 that has been sitting around unused for 1 1/2 years. Would not print black. Trying to find answers on HP website is maddening. I did not follow you to the T because I did not have the rubber tubing. The head was caked with dried ink. But I soaked hot water, Dawn and Windex off and on for about 8 hours. Rinsing the heads 3 or 4 times with hot water. It works so far. I am not so concerned with color but it is printing black!!!

I flushed my 6500 printhead like in the video until I got a nice even jet spraying out but still the printer won't print black. I did a hard reset, installed new cartridges. Still nothing. Any ideas what my problem might be?

I let it soak for almost 2 days in the same alchohol. It had been 11 years since we bought the printer. I made a tubing setup like yours. Waited till I got the flat stream on each nozzle. While that was drying I tore down the printer to clean the waste ink spittoon. What a job that was! I later used a hair dryer to dry the head some more. After all that I kept getting missing or damaged printhead. I even upgraded all the drivers and software. Still no good. I decided to purchase an actual unused HP stock printhead. When it arrives I hope I have success. I may try cleaning the other head one more time and try it again later. Not sure if I may have damaged it letting it soak for 2 days. Is there any chips in these heads that are vulnerable? Any suggestions? I know this is an old video post.

I have bought a printer for cheap because it had the same printhead as my printer. But it was not used i think more than a year and the ink has totally clogged the nozzles. When i tried to clean it only the magenta passes a little bit of solution through. 99% of the printhead is clogged with dried ink. I have tried to submerge the bottom of printhead into hot water, then carefully inject distilled water with alcohol into it at all color locations but unfotunately the nozzles are completely blocked, i cant even inject the solution because of the air inside which is trapped isnide. I am afraid of pushing the syringe harder because i can tear the foil. Do you have any solution for this special case how to clean completely dried up ink from the nozzles? Thank you

Interesting! Why the ammonia cleaner vs isopropyl?
@303electronics4 жыл бұрын
Both will do the job. I now like the cleaner from dollar store. Called "LA's Totally Awesome" yellow cleaner. It has a bit of isopropyl in it too.

Same! Did you ever get the printhead error to go away?
@mgb4263 жыл бұрын
Hi, I before i cleaned it, only the black and magenta were printing, not the other colors, so I did this method and it seemed fine. I put back all the pieces and now its giving me an error and nothing prints. I am getting Ink system failed. Unable to copy,recieve faxes or print. Refer to printer documentation. Error 0xc19a0013. I tried to do the pinhead alignment and that does not work. Anyone have any ideas? I guess if this does not work, i will just chuck this out. Its getting worse and not better when i try fixing things :(
@303electronics3 жыл бұрын
I'm sorry you are having trouble. Does your printer give you that error as soon as you install the printhead or after that? Most likely there is too much ink gunk on the mechanism inside printer. Shine some light into the right side of the printer where the carriage sits. Gently remove ink gunk and see if that may be the cause. Also you may spot some ripped paper or some other object. It may also be a bad printhead which was failing before you cleaned it and now failed for good. I'm sorry if that is the case. Printheads for these printers cost around $25 -$40. If you remove printhead and error goes away, the problem is with printhead and to double check, install the printhead and see if error pops up.

I kept at it and cleaned the pinhead again and the connections.. now the colors work but I simply cannot get the black to work! I even changed it to a new cartridge (even though it was working before & well).. now it seems like it's not even touching the paper. The printer error about the pinhead is less now & like I said now the colors work but not the black. The indicator show its there & full but not a stitch of black prints. Any suggestions? Should I try cleaning the pinhead again?

It’s your printer driver. The last update was in 2014. You won’t have any success unless you print remotely, which doesn’t need a driver. I got that same error and nothing worked, not even uninstalling and reinstalling. Use HP Smart, the app you install on an ipad or maybe phone too. Works for me, but make sure the printer sees your wifi network and is connected to it. Good luck

How have you connected the tube to the water tap?
@303electronics2 жыл бұрын
Hi. my faucet has a garden hose connection tip. I used a connection that someone at ACE Hardware helped assemble. Also, when I didn't have that a 1 liter or 2 litter soda bottle cap worked for me. Just drilled hole and added plastic connection. Sealed with hot glue gun.
