Remember, rubber seals take wear. Water (or chemicals) come into contact with the outer area of the rubber seal, so anything other than water "could" negatively impact the rubber seal.

I have a G-SHOCK I love, but I hate the glossy strap / bezel look on the model. I was wondering if there's a site I could find a replacement strap / bezel for the model in a black matte finish instead? Either that, or is there a way to remove - to strip the gloss off of the glossy strap / bezel?

Cleaning a G-Shock Watch While it can be tempting to dip the watch in soapy water, it is best to avoid subjecting it to soaps and detergents that can dull the appearance and damage the metals and plastics. Owners should use rubbing alcohol and plain water on soft cloths designed for cleansing. G-Shock watches are tough, but paper towels and other abrasive materials can leave scratches on the surface. Q-tips are excellent for cleaning between the nooks and crannies, with careful attention to avoid leaving cotton fibers behind.

The simplest and effective way is to clean it through your regular toothpaste.... It makes the whole dirty watch into new... Rub it genty through tooth bursh... It removes whole stains.... I recomment colgate teeth whitening paste

Hi, i just want to ask if you know how to clean the glass part thoroughly, cuz when i let it dry (without the help of a towel, just the air) the water residue on the glass leaves tiny spots that is difficult to remove. Cherie Valero thanks so much for your comment. I would wipe it with a towel before it dries. You can prevent streaks by wiping it with a cleaning cloth that you use for eye glasses or computer screens. Hope that helps!

Try erasing it off with a clean white eraser. Just rub enough to get the layer of pen out because chances are it's just on the surface. But be careful. This method depends on what kind of gshock you have and how fragile the painted details on it is. If it's a solid white or black like the ones in the video then you should be fine.

I can confirm that the magic eraser works well, as far as the vinegar + baking soda = base solution which is basically water as far as pH is concerned... Which will only clean off the dirt BUT not the yellowing inherent to white G-Shock watches...

Hi, you seem to know your bit about g-shocks. i have a DW-6900SN-3CR (limited edition) and its matte of course, and i cant get it back to blue and remove the black dirt. i also i have the 30th anniversary one (DW-6900) and its metallic silver, would it be the same process for cleaning? also do you think it would be worth selling the blue one as i just saw on for sale for $295 (£182) which i only bought for £95?

Hello, so for your matte DW-6900SN-3CR, if you've tried all the methods from the video then unfortunately I do not have any other methods to provide you. You can go to a professional, a store the sells g-shocks or a watch repair place to get more information. For your metallic silver, the best method is to hand wash it with cold water and gentle soap, like hand soap. I wouldn't try the vinegar or any other chemicals as I don't know if the paint or outer layer would come off since I have not held one in my hands before. So just to be safe only wash it with gentle soap and water. As far as reselling, it is totally up to you. If you're not much of a collector and your watch is in excellent condition then you definitely can. Good luck!

aside from those tips, you could top it off by using a cheap ultrasonic cleaner. it's a good investment since you can use it on other items like jewelry, eyeglasses, cellphone cases, etc

Hey Mark! Great question! To be honest, there isn't much you can do with yellowish stains but make them lighter. I've done a bit of research online and attempted to try to get the yellow stains of my white matte G-shock as well but I haven't managed to get it off entirely. However, I find that overtime, the more you wash your g-shock (warm water & soap) the stains get lighter. Also the vinegar & baking soda solution and rubber eraser method made the yellow stain just a tad lighter as well. I apologize that I can't give you a straight one answer on how to get the yellow stains off, but I hope this helps you in some way. Just be patient, and happy cleaning! ps: online, some people have said using magic eraser, and the super fine sandpaper helps but I haven't tried this myself. (and honestly am too afraid to use the sandpaper method)

peachy deocares So the yellowish colour is the toughest part, because it happens and theres not much we can do about it (or at least I haven't found a way yet). If you've tried all the methods in the video, I think cleaning it on a regular basis might help reverse the yellowish colour a bit, but not 100 percent. If i find out a better way thats not already in this video ill make sure it post it here. (ps the baking soda and eraser method has helped me the most in this situation)

all dirt stains should be able to come off after warm water and soap. you can use dish detergent to help fight the grease but that is the best you can do without putting any heavy chemicals on your G shock that might ruin the colour.

I'm so happy it was helpful for you! If its the same rubber strap that Gshock has, all the methods should be the same. Just make sure its also water resistant before you wash it! I'm not sure the quality of a Timex Expedition, but you can stay away from rubbing alcohol if you're worried about anything rubbing off, as I know some people tend to use that to clean their watches. ohk so guys, I accidentally found a good way to cLean the edges, the holes, And unreachable parts take an old (clean) toothbrush, wet it and rub it on tha soap den wipe the dirt off the watch and the less reachable parts
