It will be a great job when done🤝🏻

This is a great idea but what's even better is soaking in a large container of caustic soda solution, rinse and repeat a couple of times and it looks like brand new with no manual scrubbing required at all

I just cleaned my intake. 2 hours. Oven cleaner, brush on a screwdriver and dishwasher tablets. Then a long time with hot water + pressure wash.

Nice one. 2hrs is very good. Glad to be able to help.

Great idea, turned out really well. Did you test to see if the mechanism is worn, I see some people are putting a screw in the actuator to act as a stop when their manifold starts wearing out and the flaps go past the stop point.

No wear issue on this one. It was well lubricated with engine oil😁

Great video, how did you clean the valves?

Hi I have a video on the valve and valve ports cleaning🤝🏻

There are two broad categories of oven cleaner: those with and those without sodium hydroxide (lye) which is corrosive. I'm American so I am not familiar with that product. I did some research and it appears you used the corrosive kind. Did you notice any degradation in the ABS plastic or any aluminum or rubber parts?
@TheKeenMechanic Жыл бұрын
Use the corrosive one without any fear. I have done this so many times in the past 15 years I can't even count. I have never had any issues with either plastic or metal parts. Hope this helps.

@@TheKeenMechanic I greatly appreciate your quick response, thank you.
You reckon the oven cleaner will be okay on gaskets? Might they corode?
@TheKeenMechanic5 ай бұрын
I would remove the gaskets if you can if you are going to reuse them. If you can afford replace all gaskets and seals after the cleaning. Thanks for watching and for your comment.

Is there a way to clean it without removing
@TheKeenMechanic Жыл бұрын
Not really, if you want to do a good job. There are services and chemical products that claim to clean it but it all goes through the engine and cloggs up the dpf and wears the engine out prematurely. It is not difficult to rwmove and clean it as I have shown
@bravebrowser261 Жыл бұрын
@@TheKeenMechanic it looks a nightmare to take off lol never mind putting back on lol

@@bravebrowser261 I have done it a few times this week and it really isn't too bad as long as you take care

@@bravebrowser261 🤣 Can I ask you is it a big job to disable the EGR on N57. It makes a mess and cloggs up these engines so bad in no time.

Thanks again. You are a legend. Thanks for watching all my F10 videos. If you have never tried Mr.Muscle for cleaning heavy oil and carbon this will be a game changer for you. I can highly recommend this method as it is cheap and very effective
