Great video. The best video on how to remove BMW F10/F11 Intake manifold. Thank you very much for sharing your knowledges. My car has just passed 155000 Km and my intake manifold is clogged up with oil and carbon. I have checked that the intake maniold is så full of oil and carbon that completely cover my map sensor 1 cm. After cleaning the map sensor my car is quicker and accelerate with power again. Winter has come to Norway and I have no place to do a complete cleaning o my intake manifold, so I have to waite for spring. Wish you a fantastic christmas celebration and a happy new year. :-))

if cleaning is to complicated for you, consider buying a new part. You guys in Norway, might be able to buy from Autodoc Germany and depending on discounts and time of purchase the intake was 150 euro .... check this link out www.autodoc.co.uk/spares-search?keyword=intake%20plumen&sort_categories%5B0%5D=1415 .... also look at some of my newer vids and you can get a discount code of 10 euro .... kzbin.info/www/bejne/gV7cnqWHrrp2i7M .

@@BestCarMods Cleaning is not a problem. My intake manifold is still in good condition, it only need a clean service.. I have bought brake cleaner , turbo egr cleaner, Mr Muscle oven cleaner, enginge port cleaner brush set. The Throttle body is easy to remove and clean. So If I clean the map sensor and throttle body regularly the engine should run okay til spring.

Why do I see some of these cars with massive oval filters vs rectangle panel filters? Are they different between UK and other regions?

Great and very detail video, thanks. I got P22D3 error code for 2014 535D N57. The reader says the turbo inlet valve stuck. Would you mind sharing a video if you have one for it? Thanks.

never had that problem as my car is a 530d ... but it is self explanatory ... you find the turbo inlet valve and see why it doesn't move .... I expect it to be related to the 2 turbo assembly that you have

Hello, very good video, I would like to ask you,? If I disconnect the battery terminals to do this job, i have to register my battery again? Because did I remove the terminals from the battery? or is it not necessary?

Not yet because on a visual check it looks very good. No noise on cold starts. I am considering changing it at the same time as the water pump, belt tensioner and all pulleys. Maybe at 150.K mi

Hi mate, I'm due to get my intake manifold changed on a BMW E90 325d N57. I am just wondering is there any coding necessary after fitting a new intake ?
@BestCarMods10 ай бұрын
no coding needed. if you go by the book you should do something like position relearn for the flaps. but it work even without

Fantastic video. My car has done 50k kms, mostly city comute, when do you recommend i do this?
@BestCarMods3 жыл бұрын
1. I would say first do a diagnostic scan with ISTA and if you have a DTC regarding Glowplug control module or Swirl flap positions implausible signal, you can consider doing the intake cleaning ... I say glowplug control module because it is very hard to change the module without removing the intake. 2. There is a test procedure in ista that can estimate how bad is the carbon buildup. 3. You can take out the Intake MAP sensor and if it is very dirty, it might be time to clean the intake. 4. If you are considering remapping the engine and you want more power the intake clean is a must. 5. If when you start the car in the morning the engine starts to shake for a few sec and it gets better if you rev it ... intake needs cleaning. 50.000 Km is not that much... might still be ok. I will try to do a video to answer your question in more detail, it might help other people.
