This video left out a VERY critical and important step. After cleaning the unit, you must install a NEW toner cartridge and initialize the developer unit. In the settings, make sure it is set to initialize the next time the copier/printer is turned on. The machine will run, and say "Adding Toner" for 13 to 15 minutes. THEN you're good to go. I am a certified Kyocera Technician.

Hi. I wonder if you could help. My printer was not printing clearly so I followed your instructions to clean out my toner unit. There was LOTS of toner inside. After I had got most of the toner out, I used an old toothbrush to clear the remaining toner from the roller. Finally, I wiped everything clean with baby wipes. After initializing the toner, the printer is printing nice and dark and clear but there are dark vertical lines all across the pages 😭 I have printed lots of pages to see if it would clear but it hasn't. Have i damaged the roller? Can this be fixed? I'd be really grateful if you could advise. Thank you so much.

Baby wipes are not good to clean the toner roller, they leave residues. I think you have to clean the blade of the toner roller and the toner roller with a soft cloth

Then you need to initialize "new development unit" function on your MFP to add toner. Don't know how to force it on printer but it eventually happens after several turns off and on.

check if the cartridge is properly seated, try to remove and reinstall the cartridge, if nothing works probably the chip od the cartridge is defective. is it an original cartridge?

My developer unit seems to be loosing toner anywhere.. Tried to clean the doctor blade - had a lot of buildup. Unfortunately that did not fix it. Whole page is grey, black dots also in the back. If I swap the developer with another one, everything is fine. Do you have an idea what I could try, or is the unit toast?

May be the magnetic roller is worn. Try to clean it with isopropyl alcohol, remove all the old toner. May be it's damp.

Probably you have to remove all the old toner and insert new toner

I think it's a mechanical defect, probably you have to brinf the machine to a repair centre. look at the scanner unit, may be there is something blocking the movement of the laser scanner. any error message?

Many ppl are saying that kyocera laser printer refilled with not original toner it will break after few hundred prints, when the rest of the original toner than left in the printer chamber will end. Is it true that you have to use only original toner woth kyocera printers?

Kyocera printers are quite delicate but if you use a good toner powder there are no problems

Hi sir, i have kyocera ecosys fs-1040 printer. When i print page everything is good except the middle of the page. On every printed page i don't have a text in the middle of page or the text is barely visible. Kyocera client says that i have 49% toner remaining. So i think the problem is in toner unit or drum? I think the problem could be the transfer roller or the toner unit, may be the toner roller or its blade is defective

A new cartridge? this cartridge has a chip. it may have a problem with the developer, or the sensor inside the toner chamber is not working properly. try to claen the chip and the contact inside the printer

I think the problem is not into the toner unit but in the drum unit. check the corona wire and its connections. it could be a mother board problem also

E' una stampante a toner, non usa inchiostro. Forse è un problema ai fusori se le stampe sono sbavate o il toner non aderisce al foglio

@@greenfluo2755 Potrebbe dipendere dal toner troppo vecchio o umido. In queste macchine il contenitore del toner è nella stampante e può anche rimanere lì per anni. Ogni tanto meglio togliere tutto il vecchio toner e sostituirlo con toner nuovo. Potrebbe essere anche l'unità tamburo, o il rullo toner consumato. Purtroppo senza vedere la macchina è difficile da dire

@@greenfluo2755 il rullo del toner è il rullo coperto di toner a contatto con il tamburo. Il tamburo di solito è da cambiare quando è consumato, le righe sulla superficie sono il sintomo più evidente ma a volte può avere problemi anche se sembra a posto

What do you mean? white pages? It could have lot of causes, check the contacts between printer and drum unit, if possible try to change drum unit

@@zaidacity2788 remove the developer unit and check it for damage, dirty or disconnected connectors, or incorrect installation, then reinstall it and reboot the machine. Check the connector where the developer unit plugs into the printer If the error persists, probably you have to replace the developer unit, but it could also be the electronic board
