I am 71 and I love being a wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker. You are a smart woman and it’s so refreshing to see a younger woman who loves her work and is honest, thoughtful and genuine. Thank you Christina!!! I will do what I can. You don’t find them because they are absolutely not easy to do… it’s not easy to set up recordings in client homes because it’s awkward and you have to get permission, it takes forever etc. so when I do these it’s usually a last minute decision based on what I want to show and talk about. In other words, they’re never planned. I just think of an idea and whip out my phone😁

Rondastewart I had a cleaner because I have mobility problems and couldn't manage to the standard I used to. I had a lady come in once a week to vacuum all rooms and mop all the floors without carpet. Talking with her I thought she would be very thorough from what she said, but she mopped every room with the same mop pad, from bathroom to kitchen etc. She did move the small items like decor and vacuum behind, but never did the edges of the carpet or the backs of the stairs and just rushed through everything. It was kind of helpful because I didn't have to move decor to do behind and it was better than nothing but I did end up letting her go. If I'd seen something like Stephanie video it would have been so helpful.

Stephanie you are a FABULOUS cleaning lady! You clean and tidy with as much care and consideration as you would your own home. I agree with everything you said. I have been a cleaner in a school, doctors surgery and offices, and I always took pride in my work and enjoyed it. The first clean was always the hardest in all the places because the previous cleaners obviously didn't care about doing the job properly. I enjoyed this video, and all your videos. Just wanted to say..you are so nice. Not many people would think of others like you do. Whether its a customer or not you are a nice person to think of the things you do for your customer. Also totally so so agree with the appearance of yourself. Ironed clothing is so important to me and my mom. Too bad its not important to so many. If only they could see what a difference it makes. I see people even on the news cast. Anchors wearing totally wrinkked clothes and to look presentable. So many women i worked with in an office setting wearing short short skirts and look like they are ready for a beach with flip flops even. So sad how people let themselves go. Thank you for your videos.

Fabulous content, Stephanie!! I couldn't agree more to paying attention to detail! Yes, it matters, ALL of it😊. I've commented before that I'm in the business. For 20+ yrs...but there's always something to learn. I appreciated especially the part on how to clean walk in showers. Girl! Can I say I despise to clean them?! You gave some very good pointers! One question....I'm a stickler for having perfectly mopped hardwood floors. I have a hard time finding a mop system that meets my perfectionism. I admit, I'll clean a huge area (occasionally) on my hands and knees, but that isn't doable for my knees every time, obviously. What brand have you found works the best? Thanks again for giving me the zeal for cleaning. It has made a difference. One of my clients sent me a thank you card this past week. They noticed a difference, not that I wasn't doing a good job, but going beyond and doing that extra detail TRULY make a difference ❤.
@Thestephanieway9 ай бұрын
Well first of all, this comment was AWESOME Andrea! Thank you so much for sharing with me♥️ now the flat mop that you see on the video is my best friend!!!! I don’t use any other mop. They are lightweight, adjustable and just very comfortable to use. I got move at Costco, but you can also get them on Amazon. They don’t have the EXACT one however it’s very similar and works the same. Type in professional flat mop and they will come up. Be sure to get the one that looks almost identical to mine, because some of them will not have a strong poll. Let me know if you need help and I’ll be happy to. You can send me a pic of what you found to my email and I’ll tell you if that’s what you need.

A fairly new subscriber here! I'm not a professional cleaner nor I'm looking to be one. And I haven't commenting on your videos before, but now I have to. I have gotten so much inspiration and little tricks from you, which actually make a real difference! I have learned, that even tho I need to do a "not-so-perfect" speed clean most of the time, I can take my time every couple of weeks and just take my time on cleaning my home. From this video I learned that you can actually remove those plastic barriers on your shower doors. I don't know why I haven't recognized that before, but it really made a really significant difference! And I decided that while I'm in the shower, I just might as well put the bottles I'm using back with the label facing onwards. Takes perhaps 10 seconds of your time, but looks so much prettier! ❤ So thank you for what you do and greetings from Finland!

It made me sad that there can be so many negative experiences but I like that you shared ways to avoid those! I now have a better understanding of the whole dynamic should I ever be in a position to use that service. I really like cleaning my own home but ya never know what could happen! Great video as usual, I have learned so much! I’m wanting to find a Housekeeper and have a few questions; 1) will they clean with us being home? I’m basically home bound and get out very little due to medical problems. 2) is there anything in particular that I should ask or look for in addition to the things you describe in this video? I did take notes☺️ Thanks so much Stephanie!💜
@Thestephanieway9 ай бұрын
Hey Sally🤗 thank you so much! 1) Yes, 99 percent of services will clean while you’re home. 2) I think I covered just about everything in the video. Those are the basics to getting starting. I would emphasize though to be sure you see a checklist and look around to make sure the cleaning is to YOUR standards before they leave. Oh and also, get a full understanding of what you are paying for exactly… like what does your service include for whatever rate they’re charging. I think that’s it Sally. You should be good with that🤗 Let me know how it goes.

Hey Krystal🤗that’s really up to you. I, personally don’t like to use the client’s products. I usually just help them to understand that my products are clean and that they won’t have to worry about being overwhelmed with the smell and that I like to use my own products because it’s what I find to throughly clean and that they will get the house in the best shape possible. So in other words I don’t use their products because I just get them to trust mine😊

Thank you for such a helpful video!! I was wondering if you could do one on like homes that have been somewhat neglected or cleaned quickly but maybe not as thorough. Like for example like how to teach homeowners in a business way and like toilets that i cant get the poo stains out the bottom if you have tips or products used on houses like that. Sorry if i drew out the questions having trouble with my words today. Thank you
@Thestephanieway9 ай бұрын
Hey Sarah🤗 So, I don’t really clean that much anymore as I’m slowly moving away from the business to do other things. I pick and choose what I do now which is very limited. So you may not ever get to see that and I also don’t clean dirty homes. I’ve paid my dues where that’s concerned and so I’ve been stopped doing those and also, when I record in a clients home, it’s never planned. I just decided really at the last minute to pull out my phone and get clips simply because it’s not easy recording in clients homes and it takes FOREVER! So I don’t take requests for that because I just record only what I deem is necessary😊 BUT… if I ever come across that I’ll be sure and show it if I can. Also, I have never seen those type of stains in the toilet that won’t come off and no need to apologize😊
@sarah93149 ай бұрын
Ohh ok im new to your channel but i totally understand now. Im really just trying to help get a family member house back to basics so all they have to do is maintain going forward. and its been a lot mentally and physically. I watched your video for product tips and efficiency type things so i could get done easier and quicker. Cant be quick enough for me 😂 Seems like the stain is all the way by the water hole in the toilet and the standard blue toilet cleaner with brush isnt gettn to it or something. Ill keep trying. Thanks for responding.

@Thestephanieway9 ай бұрын
Not specifically. But I make beds in just about all of my videos. The key is to pull the sheets tight and making sure everything is straight😊 But I could probably do a video on it.

I would love to have a local cleaning service as professional and detail oriented as you. Alas, i only have myself! 😊 As i watched you clean this bathroom, i was waiting to see if you have any sure-fire ways to clean glass shower doors! I hate that job!

As for cleaning the floor w/vinegar, do you dilute it? How do you keep down the smell?
@Thestephanieway5 ай бұрын
I do dilute it with water. The smell is not a problem for me or my clients as it dissipates quickly.

As a business owner of nearly 20 years, contracts actually can be terminated if there is termination language included in the contract. So the contract is considered in force as long as the termination clause is not activated, or the expiration date has not arrived.
@Thestephanieway9 ай бұрын
With CLEANING contracts in most cases there is a penalty for terminating the contract, especially on the clients part. So what I am conveying to the people is don’t do it because they are completely unnecessary. And we all know that it’s not as simple as you’re saying.
@faithtvonline9 ай бұрын
@allthingshousekeeping Thanks for responding. I was simply relaying that termination CAN be simple if you clearly outline the stipulations in the contract itself. No arguments intended. I just don't want people to become squeamish about the word "contract", whatever line of work they're in. They can be really useful documents.
@Thestephanieway9 ай бұрын
@faithtvonline you’re welcome and no argument here either. I was responding. But in the cleaning industry, which is what is being discussed HERE, not any other business, are totally unnecessary and never needed. Contracts are hard to maneuver out of and the client in the CLEANING industry always gets screwed and so I’m not saying that contracts are never necessary… I’m talking cleaning here and they are never necessary with CLEANING.

Do you clean your microfiber cloths by hand or washer?
@Thestephanieway9 ай бұрын
I always wash them in the machine.
@beckiruther12139 ай бұрын
It’s good in that those are the products that they find give them the best results(former housekeeper for 19 yrs). Imao the housekeepers should charge $2 or so less if the client wants to furnish their own products. However, most clients don’t have pumice stones for cleaning under toilet rim, etc, or micro fiber or the yellow cloths to dust with.

@@Thestephanieway I was responding to a question by a commenter & was giving my point of view as a 19 yr. housekeeper re is it a good idea if the client wants the housekeeper to bring her own cleaning supplies. My comment got placed at top for some reason. 🤷🏼♀️

The window/glass spray...it streaks my bathroom mirrors 😢...is it the towel or the mirror 🤔?
@Thestephanieway6 ай бұрын
It could either. Glass can be a problem as well depending on the quality. Try using an old tee shirt (cut it) and see if that helps. But yes, using the wrong rag is problematic
@susanmorrison84039 ай бұрын
That client had a lot of stuff on the bathroom counter. Do you ever suggest finding a home in a drawer or cabinet? Or at least a tray to corral the items on the countertop? It would be so much nicer for them and easier to keep clean, neat, and less cluttered.
@Thestephanieway9 ай бұрын
I honestly think that would be kind of rude to ask my clients to contain their stuff.. It’s not really my business to worry about what’s on their counters, I’m just there to clean and to me it wasn’t a problem.
@beckiruther12139 ай бұрын
I agree with you. Most of my client’s had minimal products on the counters, but I had a customer who had a lot out & she asked me would it be better if I put them away in a shoe box & I said yes. She was very thoughtful. Clients don’t realize that when they get estimates they should do it right after the house is clean because they’ll get a better rate than when there’s things out of place all over the house. Ideally when a housekeeper gets a new client, they should look at the house first and after they’re hired it probably would be a good idea for the housekeeper to take pics of the condition it’s in because that’s probably how they’ll find the house each time-the more clutter the higher the price.

I literally said in the video, that the cleaner can use their discretion. Not all toilets are filthy as you should have seen in the video where the bathroom had barely been used, if at all. So I know what I’m talking about thank you.

I know someone who was working for a new cleaning company & they ran out of rags to clean with & the owner told them to just use the dirty ones from a previous house that was cleaned! Needless to say that person quit after that because they couldn’t be a part of that. 🫠

That same EXACT thing happened to me once as well and that was my last day and I didn’t clean that house as I was speaking to the owner from the the clients driveway, so once they told me to do that, I just started my car and left.
