Have you ever wondered what the best cleaning tools under $20 are? You're not alone. Many people spend a ton of money on cleaning gadgets that promise cleaning hacks to save time or money. The right cleaning tools for the job aren't finger-snapping hacks - you just need to know what to use and when.
************
*NOTE: This is from our new live shopping show Cleaning Tips & Tools with #AngelaBrownLive each Saturday at 11:00 am EDT amazon.com/live/AngelaBrown
I am finding out that 6 hours after we went live this morning - some of the #founditonamazon products have been sold out, or the vendors have raised their prices above $20. When possible we've rerouted you to a similar product. I wasn't trying to deceive you - I guess I need a disclaimer for those joining us after the live show has ended. I'm sorry for the inconvenience. 🤗

I watched one of your videos a while back and you suggested microfiber cloths (microfiber wholesale) for window and glass cleaning. All you needed was water. I thought to myself, too good to be true. I bought them anyways...I clean vacation rentals and 2 years later I have cut all windex use and paper towel use out of my cleaning. I save so.much money and keep trash out of the landfills!

I'm not a professional house cleaner, but I was diagnosed with ADHD when in my late thirties. I have always been messy and my house was always cluttered. After beginning ADHD meds, I can finally focus enough to clean my home. I started working from home during COVID and last year my Mom had a debilitating stroke so I made home renovations and additions and brought her to live with me. I cannot get enough of your tips and instructional words of wisdom especially since my house almost doubled in size. I have always used water only to clean windows and if necesary, a vinegar/water solution with some Dawn. I always get strange comments when people find out I hate Windex and try not to use a lot of chemicals when cleaning. My cleaners consist mostly of Dawn, water, baking soda, citric acid and vinegar. All of this to say THANK YOU and I am now a subscriber! 🙂

My secret weapon for shower floors and shower walls is the Libman "No Knees Floor Scrub Brush". It's outstanding. The hard bristles make quick work on all kinds of shower messes, even showers that have been neglected for a bit. The best part is the long stick combined with the 360° swivel head, which allows me to all areas comfortably, while standing. It negates me having to get on my hands and knees, work up a sweat, and break my back scrubbing all of the nooks and crannies of the shower. Now neglected showers that would normally take me 20 - 40 minutes to clean, take no more than 5 - 10 minutes of cleaning! HIGHLY RECOMMEND! Word of caution: don't use the brush on your fixtures, it might scuff those up. Stick to softer bristled brushes or sponges for your fixtures.

Warning re using Dawn as a regular, everyday hand soap: it is a very strong degreaser that will dry out your hands in the long run. Especially when you wash your hands frequently. Cleaning "job" hands that have just been through cleaning greasy grimy stuff is different, of course. ♥️ Dawn is a really great allrounder cleaner, I fully agree. 😊 I love that you say to be sparse with strong chemicals in the toilet. Toilet water goes back into the drinking water cycle, so you don't want to fill it up with toxic chemicals.
@AskAngelaBrown

NiNi, Thanks so much for reaching out to let us know about Dawn possibly drying out hands. It’s always good for people that work with their hands a lot to regularly use hand cream. Also, thanks for sharing about the chemicals in the toilet getting into drinking water. 👍

Nini you are SO RIGHT! I had been filling my soap dispenser in my kitchen with Dawn and found myself washing my hands with it a lot. Hands got really dry. Now I have a refillable foaming handsoap dispenser so I water it down a lot. Lasts longer too! Don't forget your handcream!

For C Ziv, I have also been very ill over the past 2 years and although better than I was, having chronic illness means I have had to alter how I do things too!! Like Angela, I agree that you just do what you CAN, and take care of yourself first. Housework is very patient... it will wait for you, LOL!! Now what works best for me is what I call "puttering". I get up and do a small job, or even part of a job and then rest for a bit. Then go back and do a little more. Example is in the bathroom.... do the sink, then take a break. Clean the toilet and take another break if needed. No one is timing you so go at your own pace. I often do things when I need to go to that room for another reason, ex every time I go to the bathroom I clean one thing. By supper time the whole thing has been cleaned ( or all but the floor) and I haven't stressed myself. Do dishes sitting on a chair or stool, wipe down one thing every time you go get a drink or snack... just 60sec and before you know it the whole thing is done. And concentrate on the most important things only!! And let your partner do what he/she can. Even if it isn't to your standards let them sweep or vacuum. You may need to tell them what needs to be done, but DO NOT be embarrassed to ask for help!!! We all need help sometimes. It does NOT mean you are weak, it means you are HUMAN!!!

I bought one of those twisty drain cleaners about a decade ago, and it is the best $4 I've ever spent. I live in a rental apartment built in 1910. The plumbing is somewhat delicate, and the building maintenance man gave me the go-ahead to use this. Cleans out the drain in a couple of minutes. BTW, Costco sells packages of 21 Scotch-Brite blue scrubby sponges for a great price. I didn't know you could throw them in the washing machine!!

Windex or generic glass cleaner (the blue stuff) will remove blood stains from any surface, including clothing. It will also remove old blood stains too. Just spray, leave on about 5 minutes and you can see it dissolves the stain. May need to repeat for stubborn stains. Then either wipe away or throw in the washing machine.

Yes, the flat silicone brushes also work as long as you clean all the areas of the toilet. I'm seeing some fancy schmancy toilet brush designs (some still in prototype mode) and for the most part - the traditional brushes designed to fit a traditional toilet work best.

Hi Angela, thank you! I am watching repeat on Sunday. I immediately got some Dawn dish soap and an empty pump bottle that I had. And I brought in the fabulous car squeegee that you showed, from the car. Im considering getting a steamer for cleaning. Funny, I just Decluttered my clothes steamer. But a cleaning steam has a concentrated nozzle. I watched your steam mop. If I can clean my moldy bathroom grout, that would be great. I tried cleaning the bottom corner of my shower today, after listening to this. I’m a senior that doesn’t have very good balance. And I forgot that there was rod a rod over my head. I bumped my head. I’m not going to take chances getting hurt. I’m hoping that the steamer can get out that molding corner. Will it? Let’s have some fun now. Let’s play Jeopardy!!! Contestant: “I’ll take phrases or $100.” Host: (lifts the square) It say “Angela Brown.” Contestant: “Who says muckety-muck” Host: “Correct” I just love you, Angela!!! Hope this gives you a smile!!!

The best thing I found to clean the bottom of the shower when a necessary deep clean is needed: spray with laundry pre-spotter like Shout, and let it sit for awhile, maybe ten minutes or more, then clean with your sponge or microfiber cloth and rinse well. Amazing results.

+Barbara Sauer what kind of surface is the bottom of your shower made of? The key if you’re going to use a cleaning chemical other than its intended purpose, is to check the pH balance, and make sure it’s safe for the surface you’re using it on. Another note, is to make sure that it is your own shower. You’re experimenting on and you’re not your customers showers.

Thank you so much Angela. I love your videos and learn some tricks about clean. Just a question. If the soap have been in the glass for a while. Do you think it going to come off only with the down detergent and the car scrub?
@AskAngelaBrown
@AskAngelaBrown Жыл бұрын
If soap has been left on a glass surface for an extended period, it can become difficult to remove. Simply using a mild detergent and a car scrub may not be sufficient to get rid of the soap residue entirely. However, you can try the following steps to improve your chances of success: Fill a bucket with warm water and add a small amount of mild dishwashing detergent. Wet the glass surface with the soapy water and let it sit for a few minutes to loosen the soap residue. Next, gently scrub the glass with a non-abrasive sponge or cloth, starting from a small inconspicuous area to avoid scratching the glass. If the soap residue persists, you may need to employ a glass cleaner specifically designed for tough stains and soap scum. Follow the cleaner's instructions and use a soft cloth or sponge to apply and scrub the glass. Rinse the glass thoroughly with clean water to remove any remaining soap or cleaner residue, and dry it with a lint-free cloth to prevent water spots. It's important to note that for particularly stubborn or long-standing soap residue, you may need to repeat these steps or consider using a stronger cleaning product. Also, be aware that specialized cleaning techniques may be required for certain glass surfaces like frosted or textured glass, so it's advisable to consult the manufacturer's recommendations if applicable. Hope this helps.

Make sure when using the baking tray liner on the bottom of the oven, at least when using in gas ovens, that you don't cover the heat vents on the sides of the oven. They'll wreck the heat sensor. Most of those liners can be cut to fit between the openings.

Hey Jenny, Thanks for the heads up. This show is part of our live shopping show on Saturdays amazon.com/live/angelabrown where we give you cleaning tips and the tools to make them happen. Since this morning 3 of the companies who sell edgeless microfiber cloths have raised their pricing above $20 (I know because I keep changing the link here to match the title of our production), and the companies left under that price won't have the 5 pack multi colors or they have edges. Here is a paid link amzn.to/3qbxI8o to one company with three or four colors in their edgeless collection. NOTE: If you're like me, you will be happier with the microfiber cloths that are 12 x 16 because they are 4 inches bigger than the 12 x 12 ones which are also good, but a tiny bit small for daily cleaning. I'm sorry for the inconvenience. I'm still trying to figure out how the live shopping game works. I think when they sell out they re-route you to the next vendor. Not sure. 😁

@AngelaCleaningBrown Q: is there any tips you can give for a disabled person to clean. I have had 12 back surgeries to date and found it very difficult to clean around my house? Love your channel!!
@AskAngelaBrown
@AskAngelaBrown Жыл бұрын
Cleaning can be challenging for individuals with disabilities, but there are ways to make it more manageable. Plan and pace yourself by breaking tasks into smaller segments and spreading them out. Prioritize high-traffic areas and use adaptive cleaning tools designed for individuals with disabilities. Optimize your cleaning techniques by letting cleaners sit before wiping to reduce physical effort. Establish a maintenance routine to prevent excessive dirt buildup. Modify your environment with doormats, organizational systems, and storage solutions to reduce cleaning needs. Remember to prioritize your health, take breaks, and celebrate your progress. Do not hesitate to seek assistance from family, friends, or professional cleaners when needed. Remember you are not alone.

Hi- I clicked the link for the microfiber towels but they have edges/seams- which edgeless/seamless towels do you use?? Also they have different grades of microfiber - 300, 365, 500- appears to be the degree of fluffiness. What are the different grades best used on?

I'm sorry, here is the paid link to the edgeless ones amzn.to/3wWPW1c. It seems the multi-colored pack I was referring to raised its prices this morning and is now no longer $20. Argh. These are under $20. And the grades of microfiber and which is best, come down to your personal preference. The heavier ones are more absorbent and bulkier and they work as well as the smaller ones. The big difference is when you go to a weave cloth or a glass cloth. Here is the glass cloth paid link amzn.to/3wWfpaR and if you hover over the picture you can see how much finer the low pile cloth is compared to the regular microfiber cleaning cloths.

Hello! I am not a professional house cleaner but I love your videos! Could you please tell me what I can use to remove well water rust stains from my bathtub? Thanks so much!
@AskAngelaBrown
@AskAngelaBrown Жыл бұрын
Sure! Well water can sometimes have minerals in it that can cause rust stains. To remove these stains from your bathtub, you can try using a mixture of baking soda and vinegar. Here's what you can do: Mix together equal parts of baking soda and vinegar in a small bowl until it forms a paste. Then use a soft cloth or sponge to apply the paste to the rust stains on your bathtub. Let the paste sit on the stains for about 30 minutes; after 30 minutes, rinse the paste off with warm water. If the stains are still there, you can try repeating this process until they are gone. But please note that this method may not work for all rust stains, especially if they have been there for a long time. If that is the case, you may need to use a stronger cleaning solution or contact a professional for help.
