Hi - thanks for posting - this is helpful. The manual and the SIGtalk forum advise against not lubricating the striker assy: "Do not lubricate the striker assembly or allow lubricant to flow into the striker. I put a little over 400 rounds through my sig during an all day training session. hot, dry, dust everywhere, we kicked it up just walking around the range. got the gun home and saw there was shockingly little debris inside. Cleanup was almost too easy. I don't know if they just designed these things really well, or I happened to have some especially clean ammo. In any case, the takedown lever was easy to use and I guess Sig Sauer is learning from the past and making their firearms a little better each year. And apparently its much like a Glock in that it needs very little cleaning to keep running for thousands of rounds, or so geeks on the internet keep telling me.

First time gun owner. I have a p365x 12 rds. I've only put around 200 rounds in 3 range visits. I'm starting to group more at 10-15 yards. I've shot a few other handguns including S&W 9mm, and Kimber Micro 9 Stainless. Never had shot a gun before and no prior training. Personally this is the perfect EDC for any first time gun owner. Very comfortable to conceal, I'm currently appendix carrying. It's light and the recoil is manageable. 10/10.

You forget to mention sometimes you have to push that little lever back down near the rear of the frame to get the slide all the way back on when putting it back on the frame.
@44124gat4 жыл бұрын
Mrgunsngear didn't mention the "little lever" (which is called the "safety lever" on P365 schematics) because he never pulled the trigger with the slide removed, and so the little lever never popped up. If he had, the lever would have popped up and the slide wouldn't go all the way on until the little lever was pushed back down. The safety lever is the little hickey on the inside of the frame's right slide rail about an inch forward of the rear of the frame. With the slide fully installed and the gun loaded, pulling the trigger to take up the slack in the trigger (i.e., to the reset point) moves the safety lever up and out of the way of the striker. This in turn allows the gun to be fired if the trigger is then pulled fully. See: kzbin.info/www/bejne/bKC3aoSmjtiHi6s

As you stated in the beginning, Sig specifically states NOT to get any cleaners or lubes in the Striker Tunnel which by using your spray bottle to DID! I'd suggest removing the Striker Assembly and drying the inside of the Tunnel and cleaning and drying off the Striker. In the future I'd strongly recommend NOT using a spray bottle - just drip the CLP onto a clean patch.

I tend to soak it down with CLP and then blow it out with compressed air. When doing that with the 365 slide all I did was force a bunch of lube into the striker channel. As per the manual this causes light primer strikes and indeed it did. I disassembled the slide and cleaned out the striker channel and stiker. Problem solved.
@mghumphrey5 жыл бұрын
This is why I wouldn't recommend spraying the inside of the slide with CLP as shown here. Also, when cleaning the breech it's important not to push oil and junk back up into the striker channel.

So your process is: bath it in oil, wait, wipe off, clean? I recommend the videos from Gunblue490 about the real necessary amount of oil *hint* "wipe it with an lightly saturated oilcloth after cleaning with a guncleaner like Hoppe´s #9 -> done!" Been doing that for years now, guns are in perfect condition and less accumulation of fouling due to overlubrication. Besides your cleaning tutorials, i like your channel, keep up the good work man :)! Gruss aus Deutschland! I read a lot of reviews on different firearms and I noticed some saying the weapon failed to load failed at ejecting and jamming. I ask this Did you clean it before shooting or did you take it out and test it without cleaning? I never fire a new weapon without breaking down and cleaning first. Guns come from factory with grease that needs cleaned off and proper lube then your ready to fire your weapon. There's no reason for failure due to poor matinance practice. It's not hard. And I always use the same lube on all my weapons I don't have to think about what I used on any of them.
