Does it really matter which direction you stick the brass bore brush through he barrel? I always heard to go the direction the bullet goes and never the opposite direction like you did in this video. Just curious if it really causes any issues.

Nice to see someone using gloves. It's crazy to hear people talk about gun safety and then watch them expose their skin repeatedly to potentially cancer causing solvents. Thanks.

Excellent video. I too like watching other fellow shooters clean their weapons to pick up hints & tips. Well done- enjoyed all 28 minutes of it. ♥

Lots of cleaning, I heard .22 fire arms get the dirtyest. You are thourough with your cleanings. More than me. Great video, I worry about solvents on my rifle plastics also. Nice gun collection!

While cleaning mine for 1st time after a few hundred rounds the other day, I noticed that the exterior of the upper barrel had a lot of a brownish color coming off onto my oil cloth and I wiped it down. Someone had mentioned to me that this may be the "parkerizing"coming off? I've never heard off this until now; any feedback on this? Should I be alarmed at all, I mean this isn't rust or anything is it? The rifle was bought brand new only about a month ago. Thanks.

haven't had any issues with mine to date... what type of solvent or gun oil were you using? if the finish appears intact on the barrel, I wouldn't worry too much, but if you see areas of bare metal or thinning of the finish, I would use a different solvent/oil, and if necessary, contact Smith and Wesson to see if the warranty would cover a refinish. thanks for watching and good luck!

Late to the punch but surface rust maybe?

What cleaner solvent were you using? I am not an expert, but I understand some gun cleaning solvents can be somewhat harsh, such as Hoppe's Number 9. That is one reason that I prefer to use CLP products, (clean lubricate and protect). Such as Rem Oil or Break Free CLP.

some think so, but I prefer to keep my firearms like new to preserve the value... definitely doesn't hurt :)

Does your triggergroup pin walks? Mine wobles out after few dozen rounds. Didn't realize it until my gun fired with SAFE on. Do you know an easy fix for this?

Where did you find a Smith and Wesson M&P 15-22 pistol ? They look pretty cool.
@intoweapons5 жыл бұрын
I believe they started production in 2014 and were only available for about a year. Not enough demand to continue production I guess. It's unfortunate as it's a great little pistol!

I blow it out first. Then use an all purpose cleaner. I then use a medium and soft paintbrush for the trigger area to literally get everywhere spotless Then I use a soft bristle bottle brush from the Dollar Store of all places to clean the bolt area. Then I bought a 20 pack of metal straw cleaning brushes you can literally find anywhere to lightly clean inside the barrel. Run a bore snake through the pretty clean barrel. Then Oil that sucker up!!!👌🏽

You really should clean the bore out the directing the round goes and not into the receiver. Just an FYI.

Not a single video shows how to remove that forend
@intoweapons4 жыл бұрын
I believe it requires a special tool. It has a standard castle nut at the start of the barrel where the receiver and forend come together. The forend is held in place by the castle nut and a pin between the top of the receiver and the forend. In order to remove it, you would need an extended castle nut socket wrench to reach from the front of the forend... If that makes sense? Ultimately, there really isn't much of a reason to have to remove it. If you've gotten dirt into it, just spray it out with some water. I use a long stick to push a oil wipe down the length of the barrel on the exterior to maintain the finish and prevent corrosion. Thanks for watching!
