Hold your finger on the fan while blowing air onto the fans blades and housing and same with blowing air in from the back exhaust back into the housing. A lot folks have compress air from a compressor so be careful with the psi.

Please hold the fan while blasting air...it can either damage its bearing or can create a static electricity which may cause damage to mamy parts.

Don’t you need to unplug the battery first?

This worked fine for me! Depends on your computer/use case.

Im still using a MBP13 early 2011 :) , im about to replace the speakers, battery, and the pad, so i might as well clean it. Had the battery, ram, hard drive replaced two years ago to make it go faster.

I would love to try this because my computer is constantly overheating, but I don't have access to the equipment right now :( I'll try someday though, thanks!

You're going to bust your fan. Always place your finger on it and then apply the air.

If some liquid does come out from the compressed air, will it affect the fans?
@TheMacintoshReview

Potentially. I would make sure the compressed air is in good shape before using.

I am trying to clean dust and apply new layer of thermal paste on my macbook too! i would advise if to disconnect the battery before cleaning the fans or at least hold the fans when spraying with the can - even SAMTIME does it at 2:07, i know he most of the times jokes about everything kzbin.info/www/bejne/g6m3da2bosx5aqM - but i do hear this rumour a lot that not holding the fans, those can negatively effect the motherboard and cause discharge of electricity through the sensitive components, didnt find a reliable source to confim that. let me know if you know about this too

I used a vacuum cleaner and lost my display. You should stop using vacuum cleaner, it generates static electricity and can damage your laptop permanently
