This was great! I had an additional issue of the basket needle sticking and not snapping back to create the bottom hole - made a mess! I cleaned again, used the paper clip again, swung the bottom needle in and out a few times to get it to work easier and then, finally, success!

Hi Jim thank you for the video my question is I there is a small spring that I don’t know how it goes back in Part 1 had a piece break I gorilla glued it but now I don’t know how the spring goes back

The spring goes near the top. The bottom needle valve swings out. The spring is inside you only see the end of the spring it against the plastic. Small round hole spring fits inside. Gorilla glue worked? I tried Gorilla glue few times didn't work for me.

Jim, tnx for your help. My upper needles don't seem to have the space in the middle that you cleaned with the paperclip. They seem solid. I have 2.0. When cleaning the top 2 needles, i took off the grommet so i could see what i was doing. I thought the grommet may not be sitting correctly and i removed it. I ran a pod and it worked fine, no needle cleaning msg, and didn't seem to leak anything or spill coffee grinds. Is it safe to leave the grommets (which are rubber and connected to each other by a rubber band) off while operating? I assume they stabilize the pod during brew but i also think they may be causing the error msg.... tnx for your help.

The top needle is solid its the sides that you use the paper clip ( check video at 3:20 ) Try putting the grommet back in but check the top needle with paper clip first.

very informative. My problem was excessive grinds in my coffee. After disassembling the 3 parts, I discovered that the bottom needle had cracked off and was loose. It should not be. So, I went on line and purchased the 3 part item.

Our K-Cup Holder assembly is missing. Not sure how my husband has been making coffee without it in the housing. I hear that the holders are on back order. We do have the My K-Cup but he prefers to use the pods.

The maintenance item helps but just cleaning the needle valve will be just as good.

I cleaned all the needles and water runs through ok but when I try to brew coffee, it pushes the coffee grounds out of the top. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Sounds like your bottom neddle valve is not piercing the bottom of your k cup causing grinds to come out top. Check bottom needle valve again and make sure basket is aligned properly.

Ok, I wasted a bunch of coffee pods in my machine. Screwed around with the needle blah blah blah. I usually use the soft bottom cups. Bought some salted toffee coffee. Water under pressure! Grrrrrrr! I then tried the soft bottom cup. Worked. So. I cut the plastic bottom off for now. Works

I did everything and even got hot water to go through. I thought it was ready but I open and closed the lid and got the same error to do maintenance on needle. I didn't even put in the cup to make coffee.

Jim I have done all these steps (thank you) but my Keurig 2.0 is still not operating correctly. It will brew about half a cup then water starts leaking from the bottom. The water container is on the back of my particular model (about 5 years old). Do you have any suggestions for me?

Char there are 2 rubber gaskets on 2 needles above. There's one in front and directly behind that there is another gasket on needle.

Thanks a ton for this video, it turns out the bottom needle on ours was clogged with not one but 2 pieces of small white plastic the exact same size as the hole it punches in the bottom of the pods. That's right, instead of the plastic hinging and staying attached to the pod a couple of them broke off. The orange cleaning piece would never fix that but a toothpick sure did!

You mean when you press the button on the basket controls the bottom needle ? Looking at mine I can see the spring on the top and looks like it fits in top and bottom with a plastic pin with the spring on the top. There is small Phillip's screw on the bottom that may hold the assembly in. Try taking that screw off to get at the t shaped piece.

First thanks for subscribing Norma. I looked at my needle valve, there is a rubber gasket that can be removed to look at the needle valve. The needle is far as I can see is part of the unit and cannot simple be replaced. Every time I pick up the handle on my 2.0 some water dribbles out for a few seconds , it seems to be coming out of the K cup. I have done all the cleaning procedures.

Keurig=JUNK.If I want to do hours of maintenance,I'll buy a Ferrari.JUNK,they work for a year,then start making half cups.I've had 3 units,all started making half cups within a year.Best keurig experience was when I dropped it out of a 2nd floor window,hundreds of small parts.If they reinstitute above ground nuclear testing,keurig headquarters should be ground zero.
