Yup that was really in need of a cleaning. I’ve owned one for a couple years and do this about once a year. When you use the vinegar solution remove the rear water filter cartridge, run your vinegar cycles, rinse cycle and then replace the water filter with a new one. Best video on this I’ve found so far

Thank you for the kind words. I never thought to take out the filter. Great tip! Thanks for watching!

I don't have a Keurig 2.0 coffee maker, but I watched it anyways. I need to reevaluate my life.

This is the video I needed, I descaled my wife’s Keurig 3 times and was getting a ton of gunk out of it still , I was about to run out and buy her a new one, watched this video and found out where the gunk was coming from. Thanks

Great video. I would just add that you should run a cup or two of coffee to get the vinegar taste out of the lines before you brew a cup to actually drink.

I found that using a very fine coffee will screw up....well....it screwed up MY I~Coffee Maker, anyway......twice!!! Grrr I sent the first one back bc it would not turn off but the replacement they sent me within 4 mos was already totally clogged. So NOW I only use course ground coffee. Keurig coffee makers may be different but if not cleaned pretty regularly with the white vinegar/ water run thru it a few times , it is def going to clog up. And I don't know about you, but WANT MY COFFEE NOW!! lol Thanks for the helpful tips.

Couple of Qs; What's the ratio of water to vinegar? I mean: how many ounces of vinegar to water? Dud you use distilled white vinegar?
@jann67385 жыл бұрын
Sorry, I ment DID you use white vinegar? Not DUD!! lol
@TheFixerHomeRepair5 жыл бұрын
Hey Jann, Sorry for the late reply. Yes, I did use distilled white vinegar. I would not be too concerned with getting the ratio perfect. If I had to nail it down, I would say it was about 1 part vinegar to 6 parts water. I hope this helps. Thanks for watching!

OMG I can imaging how disgusting my old original machine looks inside. I guess I'll have to bite the bullet and do a thorough clean. (I do run the vinegar through regularly, so you don't think I'm a total slob!)

Also it's kinda weird that a needle is in the machine also. It's not like this coffee tastes better..there is not one single k cup that is good. You'll never see a Keurig in a coffee shop..but you will see a regular Mr Coffee by chance.
