Hi i’d recommend getting a horseshoe brush to lightly dust off dirt after every couple of uses :) it’s soft and gentle and prevents buildup overtime and eventually you won’t have to wash them with some soap/detergent and only need leather conditioner for maintenance unless they’re soiled like got spills or mud. Dust on leather can also pull away moisture and dry out leather so it’s good practice to dust it off :D Also applying thin layers of mod podge outdoors on the printed docs and finishing it off with some acrylic sealer can help seal the print and prevent it from peeling. :D

I have patent leather dr martens and I got scuff marks on them and if you just use a gum eraser it works really well for getting scuff marks off and my dr martens look brand new

Oh, don't use Cif, it will damage the leather really bad. Use saddle soap, it's formulated for leather. Saddle soap will pull out old oil in the leather, which causes odour in leather shoes.

I found that a horseshoe brush 'scratches' away the wax on the crazy horse leather 😦 i just use a soft fluffy cloth instead

My best recommendation is tennis socks. The ones that sit tight and are thick. I haven’t tried the Nike tennis socks but that’s basically what I’m talking about!

Clean them with water/saddle soap. Air dry. Then use an old cotton rag or t-shirt, and a shoe polish that is the same colour as the leather. Example - cherry docs, use cherry red polish. Black docs use black polish. Give the Dr. Martens a good shine, focusing more time on buffing the scuff mark. It should minimize how noticeable the scratch is. 🤝

It will help “moisturise” the leather. Kind of like after wash in a shower, you don’t need to but it helps make the leather feel nice!

Yes! I usually just use oder eaters if they smell really bad but if you need to wash the insides some water and light amount of soap should do the trick. Then make sure they fully dry out before wearing them!
