Hey thank you man. I’m gonna buy some this stuff and hit my countertops. I got these granite countertops from the factory that you could see every ring on it within 30 seconds to a minute so I’m hoping your video really alleviate a lot of that. Thanks again I appreciate your hard work and time.

Which sealer do you recommend the Tenax Agaer or Akeme Nano for home use with medium colored polished granite. Are they availbable to nonprofessionals to purchase/use? Thanks

Thanks, I just got granite counter tops and the installers used Akemi Peal to seal, I was told to clean the next morning with soap and water, so I washed it off and the counter top looks awful, you can feel tacky grit, and see cloudy spots, you wipe your hands over it and there is definite smudges. I tried 4-1, water and denature alcohol this morning but that did not work either...what now?

We have absolute black-honed leather countertops in our kitchen. We renovated a house approximately 2 years ago, and we are really good about keeping them wiped down daily with a wet microfiber cloth. We use mild soap and water when needed...lately, however; I have noticed some white spots (in the grooves, etc) and only in some areas on my countertops. What is the best way to remove the spots? And...how often should I re-seal this type of granite?
@FOUCHFABS
@FOUCHFABS 10 ай бұрын
I'm not sure what's causing the spots, hard to say without seeing. I would recommend maybe a strip down reseal. Remo e everything from tops get you some denatured alcohol and clean all tops good. In the areas you see the white spots you may need to use a scotchbrite pad or a steel wool to remove any residue that may be caught in the texture. After cleaning get you a good sealer like nano, or hydrex. I don't recommend ager on leather material unless you are very careful to wipe off any extra before it dries. This should take care of your issue. If your cleaning regularly with soap and water your sealer should last you several years, some sealers will last 8 to 10 years. I hope this helps, and thanks for watching.

Silly question. Does it matter what type of rag you use? Also, I have a small crack in my granite. Will this help fill it in? Will check to see if you have a video on this. Thanks so much for the info!
@FOUCHFABS
@FOUCHFABS Жыл бұрын
Not a silly question. Not everyone does this for a living. You can use any type of paper towel, or paper style rag, also my wife likes using microfiber cloths when cleaning the showroom. As far as your crack. If it is a fissure then a color enhancing sealer such as ager will hide it, however if you can feel it, it will not fix that. A liquid acrylic with spray accelerater would be your cheapest bet for a do it yourself fix. Depending on how bad it is, and how much it bothers you, a professional could feel the crack and surface polish it and that would make it dissappear. Thanks for watching.

Thanks! I know that there are cloths that shed fibers/fuzz. Also, I see, I guess, the fissure more than I can feel it. I don't want it to get worse. Thanks for the speedy reply 😁😊

Great video thx! I actually saw your original video about 3 or 4 years ago. I think you were using Dawn dish soap with water, and maybe some Windex? Anyway, I noticed you didn’t use much sealer? Maybe a fourth of a cup or less on that black table. Just enough to wet it. And you let it dry overnight? I’ve been using Stone Pro Ultimate Pro impregnating nano sealer for the last couple of years. It works well but says you must not let it dry. After applying you let it sit for 5 minutes (rewetting after 2.5 minutes) and then wipe off completely. I’d like to try the Ager since it has the color enhancer. Our granite has many colors…browns, creams, and silver, so the enhancer might look nice. I’ll try your method of cleaning with denatured alcohol and then seal it with Ager. I need to learn what you did to buff it off after it dries though. Thx again!

As long as you wipe it off the following day you. An use a dry rag or papertowel and it should come right off. If however you leave it on for a week or so then its a nightmare to get off. I havent used the sealer your using but would be interested it trying to see results. Seems quite time consuming. I really appreciate your comment and i hope you jave a blessed day

My Granite doesn’t seem to seal with the products I have purchased off Amazon. I will try the sealers you suggested. What product do you suggest for cleaning grease and stains from granite? Thank you from West Texas. Rose

Deep stains are tough. You can try denatured alcohol, or acetone. Braxton Bragg I think they go by B B now, they sell products that can Remove certain stains. I have personally not had any success with grease stains once it has soaked into the stone. Good luck and thanks for watching.

I had used a stone cleaner on the flagstone and grout walkway. I placed the bottle down on the black counter top and it left a ring I cannot get out. Maybe etched? What is the best method of restoring this kind of damage?

I did buy some denatured alcohol and have some Tile Guard Countertop polish and sealer for granite. But maybe trying the Baking soda and hydrogen peroxide would be a safer course of action to try first.@@FOUCHFABS

My friend, I install Quartz in California all the time, I’d say about 7/10 of my installations are Quartz. The thing is they are basically just plastic l and often when I’m glueing joints they aren’t as easy to get even. Almost every Quartz joint I end up doing a top polish. FRUSTRATED, how do you get them right? Thank you and love your vids!
@FOUCHFABS
@FOUCHFABS 2 жыл бұрын
OMG, top polishing quartz is such a pain! My recommendation, always run a seam phantom on any seam pieces, use a 6foot lvl and make sure your tops are perfectly lvl, use a ceramic razor blade to che k lvl, use a gorilla grip seam machine to get out any inconsistencies in seam, make sure you clean seam before gluing. If this doesn't work you may be getting bad slabs. I hope this helps, and thanks for watching and the kind words.

I got clear silicone on my honed granite counter while installing the sink. How can I remove this excess silicone without damaging the granite?
@FOUCHFABS
@FOUCHFABS 2 ай бұрын
Install it yourself? Is it undermount or drop in? I ask because it it on the edge of undermount or just on the flat surface of countertop. If on flat surface I would try razor blade for any that you can feel and for the residue that you get with silicone on honed stone I would recommend denatured alcohol with a steel wool. Can also use acetone with steel wool. Tenex also make a product for cleaning stone. It was called extra clean pro in a black can but they recently changed the can and the name, the can is now blue and white and I think they are calling it stain rescue remover. This stuff is a miracle worker. Wherever you use these products it will remove any sealer from that area if there is a sealer on it. You will need to reapply sealer after process. I hope this helps. Trust me it's not the end of the world as my guys can't seem to silicone a sink without getting it everywhere!! Lol

How often do you have to clean and seal.. more than once a year...or every XXX years? Necessary to only seal granite, or also marble...every stone? Thanks for the info...
@FOUCHFABS
@FOUCHFABS Жыл бұрын
It depends on the sealer or stain protector you use and what you clean your counters with. Most companys recomend resealing yearly but in my experience if you clean with dawn dishsoap and water your sealer should easily last 5yr plus if sealed correctly at install. All stones need to be sealed, and quartz i recomend akemi nano it is a 10 year stain repellant. Since quartz isnt porous you dont need to impregnate the stone with a normal sealer. Thanks for the comment.

So, you started to say something about using denatured alcohol on quartz countertops. Especially white ones. Then you stopped. We just bought a house and I'm not sure if it's quartz or granite. So 1st question is how do I tell, and second, if it is quartz, how do I clean it?
@FOUCHFABS
@FOUCHFABS Жыл бұрын
Sry for delay answering. I lost a pet recently and it hit me hard so i have just recently started back answering comments and making shorts. About your question. Quartz will have a snake skin finish even on the polished material, may be able to look underneath and it will be smooth and possible have writing on it, quarty is also more uniform in its color patterns. Granite however if polished, so.e will have a mirror like finish, will be rougher on the botrom, well have more variation in pattern, may have fissures and fills in the stone. I would ask the seller what the material is. I could tell you from a pic easy. About the denatured alchohol, im not sure what i was saying in video but we clean all oulf our stone with denatured alchohol. I dont use acetone, or laquer thinner on. Quartz as i have heard people say it damages the material. I have tried on samples and have not had issues. We recommend our customers clean the countertops both quartz and granite with dawn dishsoap and water using a spray bottle. I have videos showing how to mix, etc. Denatured alchohol will take any sealer on The stone off and it will need resealed after to protect from stains. I hope this helps, and i hope you have a blessed week.

I need to restore my Dallas white granite to its original color. Looking like a Dallas “light brown” white granite
@FOUCHFABS
@FOUCHFABS 2 жыл бұрын
Im familiar with the color. Have you tried cleani g with denatured alchohol and resealing? The main question woukd be is the discolorTion on the surface or has it soaked into the stone because of the sealer being worn off? Unfortunately if it is soaked in then it is almost impossible to get out. A poultice can be used in spots would would not be practicle to use on entire surface.

@@FOUCHFABS cleaned with Clorox wipes and with soap and water here and there. It’s a slight yellowing color. My wife told me that the granite wasn’t installed with sealer. Kitchen island has slight yellowing and rest of granite near the sink and stove is more discolored. I was going to buy isopropyl alcohol and have a half alcohol, half water mixture in a spray bottle to clean surface.
@FOUCHFABS
@FOUCHFABS 2 жыл бұрын
@@dominicaguirre5207 unfortunately i dont think you will have success. If stone wasn't sealed then the discoloration has proba ly impregnated the stone. I once tried to remove a stain from oil and dirt that came from constantly laying arms on a light colored desk. I literally polished it and took alchohol with no success and repeated with different cleaners until i had a 1/8 dip in stone and the stains were still there. Your best bet would be a baking soda and peroxide combo but you may be fighting a losing battle. Im sorry. Would love to hear your application and future results tho. We can all learn from each other.
