Being a maladroit tapir, I've been struggling with a certain key on my Asus for weeks (information withheld to safeguard their personality rights) - all I can say is that I'm really happy to have fixed it while following the steps in your video. Thanks a lot for this great tutorial. I struggled for ages with these miniscule pieces and thought I'd have to buy a separate keyboard as even coloured 'Tak ' wouldn't work! After watching and' juggling' a bit the key went back in with a 'snap' as you advised. Brilliant! I've even shared it with our local Tech expert for which she too is grateful.

Thank you so much for this tutorial. Went to a place where they wanted to replace the bottom part of the laptop for $175. I was able to follow your video and managed to clean all the cold coffee I had spilled. (Not much but enough to be sticky) best video EVER!

thank god this video exists. any moron can pop a laptop key off, putting it back together is where the skill comes into play. I had one big key that broke one of its springs, but it still functions. those little plastic scissor springs are *delicate,* this cannot be overstated

Your quick tutorial was very helpful! I found a staple under the keys that were sticking. The staple was removed and the keyboard is like new again.

Bruh I broke my keyboard by pulling them out. Maybe this works for some people's laptops but some laptop's keyboards are just not designed for being pulled up to clean

He should put that its for a mac, those are butterfly switched on a macbook! most laptops do not have those and ripping the keys off will be a permanent thing

Just got a brand new laptop was doing school work on it and wouldn’t you have one single drop of soda squirted directly into the shift key. I was so upset that it became sticky and wasn’t working correctly. Just popped off a couple keys cleaned all under them and bam works like new once again. I can breath easy now

I spilled tea with honey in it onto my HP Spectre the other day... 😭 Most of the keys are working but some display double when you press them and othera take ages to come back up such as the space bar. I'm so scared of taking anything out as I worry I might break them. But you make it look easy so I'll give it a try.

For some reason my D key in my laptop was a mushy, it annoyed me and i said "ill choke you damn key" i pressed it hard and long, and it was fixed, it somehow was fixed

My keys were badly stuck. To avoid beaking, I lifted them just enough to get a q tip with 90% isopropyl underneath & loosened them up. No breaks.

I tried doing the key part to put it back in since it fell off with the 2 clips, but I cannot stick the clips together for some odd reason, I tried everyway to put it on but it just falls apart, if anyone knows what this problem is, please tell me.

Sounds like you broke the thinn plastic part that connects the scissors, you might need to get a replacement for it

I am going to do a deep cleaning like this. But I suspect that my current issue is in the electrical contacts themselves, due to the mechanisms look to work properly but I need to press really hard some of the keys. Any suggestion for the electrical contact below the rubber piece?

kinda fucked if that's the case to be honest. Only way I can think of is taking your laptop apart, and tearing down until you reach the keyboard circuit board right at the bottom and giving that a clean. which would require most components being taken out

I tried cleaning my keyboard with a like lemon wipe thing cuz my keys felt greasy to the touch, and ever since i did that my keys have been sticky and im pissed, as this was a 300 dollar keyboard. This helped me tho, thanks so much!

removing the touchpad? no, find a professional to do it for you or it might break, if its just the surface of a touchpad, use a microfiber cloth!

I did it earlier and I did it with a toothpick. It's very easy, don't be scared, there isn't a way to clean it without not taking it out.

If you a own a Zephyrus Rog G15 15 Inch donʻt do this. The Zephyrus Rog G15 15 Inch keyboard buttons are more complex and are really tough to put back together. Edit: The keyboard buttons for the Zephyrus Rog G15 15 Inch is also easliy breakable. I found out the hard way...
