The best video yet on what are called tear stains, but are actually yeast growth as a result of tearing. A few of the words are misspelled, but I think this one is from the heart.
@marian15762 жыл бұрын
Tear stains on dogs are often caused by porphyrins, which are iron-carrying molecules that are the by-product of red blood cells being broken down. Porphyrins are carried in a dog’s tears, urine and saliva, and when they come into contact with the pet’s fur, stains are produced. “The chemical reaction between porphyrins and fur is what causes the change in color,” says Dr. Zay Satchu, chief veterinary officer and co-founder of BondVet, based in New York City.

I suggest using long bladed scissors so the middle of the blade terms the hair. That is if the dog moves suddenly the point will not go in the eye of the dog. And may even put a patch over the eye or eyes when cutting the hair away from the face of a dog.

and you don’t have drainage trouble from putting the hair down the sink drain? I’m so careful about that
@lorentix Жыл бұрын
Hi 👋🏻 No, I have never had drainage problems, this breed of dog Coton de tulear doesn't shed hair like other breeds and remember that tear hairs are not trimming every single day it is only if required and come out minimum... you can change your regular sink plug to the sink strainer, and you will never worry about any hairs... good luck

If you gotta clean mucous out daily or every other day, (or, if not, the mucous production gets bad), then, there is a cause that should be addressed. Producing some is normal, but if they HAVE to be cleaned in the eye area daily or almost daily, something is causing over production.
