How's your laptop now? Mine, run windows 10, 90⁰C is not a rare to me. I think the problem is not only because of thermal paste, but also from windows. I tried dual boot windows 7, 70⁰+ is the max.
@666Dez6664 жыл бұрын
@@Anuitu2u Mine is not that bad with Windows 10, but I noticed that not always the fan blows right away (so even when idle can still reach 80/82⁰ C), but as soon as the temp goes up, the fan starts and the temperature goes down to 65/70⁰ maximum, even under load. Probably some BIOS configuration to tweak.

@@666Dez666 update. Just arrived yesterday, my CoolerMaster CMC3 cooling pad. I mounted my E7440 with no battery (battery was broken), add some bubble plastic so support rear bottom (my rubber feets were busted too). I also uninstalled several unused, older, strange-suspect programs, and re-checked the hardware drivers. Voila, I got 59-75⁰C . I've ordered Cooler Master Mastergel Pro (8W/m.k), but I'll tested on my other older laptop first.

thanks really useful. My model is the E7240 so can't access as you did with the E7440.Total dissassemble needed. HOWEVER i managed just to undo the 4 screws of the CPU, lift slightly and clean. I used a thermal pad instead of paste. Works great.

very good video, however, this model of dell runs very hot by default whatever you do, it reaches 65C on idle then up to 85C at 6000 rpm fan speed with a normal load. now try to run a Virtual Machine on it .. I wish you luck, the temperature will reach 102c at 6500rpm (the max speed of the fan) then the system crashes .. while i like the design, weight, and speed of the machine, I still consider the calling of such a slim laptop is poor.
