How to Clean the Filters on a GE Dishwasher - Help it DRAIN

This video convinced me to never buy a GE dishwasher again. I wanted to clean the filter could to get figure out who to get to it, couldn't get a manual. This guy is terrific in showing how to do this if you have the flexability and patience to take the machine apart.

Thank you so much! I somehow got motivated to do this. I am probably more handy than most women but this was still a nightmare that I’ll never do again. But, this was the ONLY instructions that I found for my dishwasher. Again, thank you for doing this! Next time, I’d rather pay someone to do this.

Thanks. This is prob why my GE dishwasher isn’t cleaning dishes very clean. Mine is draining ok but seems like not all the arms might be spraying at full capacity. There’s crud at the bottom from rusted tines that have broken off my dish rack. I suspect something is clogged as the wash arm isn’t spraying very well. Either way, my GE dishwasher is going to be retired after almost 14 years this weekend for a new KitchenAid. My racks are just way too rusted with the wheels almost falling off on the bottom rack and many tines missing.

Yes. You can replace just the racks, but if you're going to invest some money, probably better off just going new. GE are not my favorite appliances anyways!

@ yeah I looked into new racks. Both together if I remember correctly would cost me $450. At that price I mind as well buy a new one. I figure I already got good use out of it. I had to replace the pump around year 5 which I did myself.

What a nightmare. The GE Profile I have is easy to clean. Just pop out the 2 filters (coarse and fine) by hand. It must be newer than this one even though it's around 8 yrs old.
