How to Clean the Grind Chamber on the Mahlkonig E65s & E80s

Hi, Is the knob pull off/removable? Ours needs some electronics spray cleaner sprayed into the knob shaft.. Because the knob response has gotten bad/jumpy. Due to common age/oxidation of internal contacts... But unplugging and spraying with the knob installed, blocks the spray from getting where it needs to. Thanks

Hi there - the rotary knob cannot be removed from the control board. The control board can be replaced if it's a continuing issue. It is not easy to do, however. @@primacoffeeequipment thanks very much for the answer reply. I suppose there is an ideal spot, maybe through the front edge or side of the knob to drill a small hole to allow electronics cleaner to be better sprayed directly into the shaft. If the problem gets worse, I may have to attempt that. Take care

I can’t freaking get it off! We’ve tried for so long and cannot get it to twist into the unlock portion

There are probably some coffee grounds in the way of the locking mechanism on the underside of top cover. We would put a flat head screwdriver against one of the pegs in the in the adaptor cover (where the hopper fits in) and hit the end of the screwdriver with a hammer to get it to unlock.

Is it recommended to clean the grinder daily even if used for home (2-3) shots daily?

Oooh! Lucky you. In a home setting you might want to clean with GRINDZ tablets once a month or so, and maybe deep clean every few months.

My goodness, looks like a torque converter! Make sure all the screws are where they belong, could be catastrophic!

We advise you to contact a professional if you don't feel like the instructions in the video aren't within your wheelhouse. Don't want to mess up your grinder!
