Hey, thanks a lot for the video! One more question - how to properly clean the brass part which cannot be removed? Just with a wet towel? Thank you!

I got a simple krups espresso machine and after heating the water there is a lot of steam and water under the place we put the cup of coffee. There is a amall tank..( actually this place is for extra cofee dropping from cup) I open it from back side of machine and i notice that the water and steam came through a black plastic tank called i think condenser. Do you know why happened this?? Its like machine produce too much pressure os steam.. Thank you!

FYI: very hard to see with your hands in the way. I simple diagram would be much more useful if you can add a link. Thanks.

It is the maintenance of this device that dissuades me from buying one rather than using my Flair where I manually control temperature, pressure, and flow rate, and have no maintenance whatsoever, and fresh water every day.

I would say this is more about habits and convenience. The flair you have to refill fresh water everyday. You can do the same with the DE1 and it will create good habits like cleaning the tank and filter at the same time, The added bonus is you can pull back to back shots as opposed to one comparing to the Flair. With all things there will be some level of maintenance involved. However you will just gain the convenience of letting the app control the temperature, pressure, flow rate etc. which will lead to much more consistency.

That was a politically correct statement by the manufacturer 😂 Here’s mine, more direct, nonetheless correct: The actual, manual maintenance effort of my de1pro is probably less per 20 shots of espresso than the manual effort of making 5 espresso shots with the flair. Also I doubt that you can pull consistent shots with a flair given that you invest adequate manual effort per shot. The temperature alone will be all over the place. Don’t get wrong, I don’t like my de1pro… I have a Rocket R9 One next to it and by god, steaming milk is soooo much better on the rocket. But after one year of using both I’ll get rid of the rocket since the espresso is soooooo much better and easier on the de1pro. Also, get up in the morning and have your espresso in 3 minutes is big plus.

Good into, thanks. Do you get a dry puck? I am curious because the cleanup is rarely shown in videos. Actually I get the temperature to within a degree or so, which is good enough. I do not see it explained anywhere how to do that, but it is not hard. I agree that it is nice to have coffee quickly, although I multitask grinding and prepping coffee with heating which cuts down on the time I am tied down. The pulling of a shot manually is less than a minute of elapsed time. You have no faffing around with a tablet to adjust, you just do it by feel and experience. I wish someone made a good steamer with boiler as a stand-alone item. Another thing that I do not like about the Decent is the open water tray. It lets contaminants drift into it from the air. If you have a house being built near you, the construction dust gets everywhere, for example.@@staenker1983
