the AK47 is pure simplicity, which is one of the reasons it is so popular, great video showing how simple it is to clean for maintenance purposes even when 90 percent of us wont do it because...it is an AK47!

That little lever at 13:54 will not go down on mine. I didn’t disassemble anything I just flipped it up and I can’t get it to go back down. Don’t want to force it. Not that familiar with aks just bought one just cause. Any thoughts? Yours seems to operate pretty smooth.

On the psa ak gen 4...what if my gas tube lever will not go back down?

Check the gas tube and be sure it’s properly seated. You can use a rubber mallet to lightly tap the lever and gently use a punch to tap it into place

Just to take off any powder residue or manufacture grease. You can dry patch em afterwards.

So I’ve got an AK103 GF3, but the bottom hand guard doesn’t come off and it’s got a rod running through it. Any clue on how to remove it?

Unscrew the rod and pull it straight out it’s a cleaning rod

Watched this atleast 10x. Helped me alot!!! As i like to clean & oil my own stuff. Have the 104 from psa with jlb rails. Took me 45mins to put the jlbillet upper /gas tube portion back on, had to be squeezed to clamp into lower handguard. Anyways, how much more efficient or important is it to use grease on the bolt as oppose to like hopps or clenz oils? Tia

I cant lock the lever for the gas tube, i had flipped it open where i can take out the gas tube but wont lock back into place. I need help, i cant find any videos on it

Just make sure that the flat side of the locking flap is facing the rear of the gas tube. Also, the gas tube must be snug against the front of the gas block. Pull the gas locking lever counter clockwise and it will slide and self lock on the dimple on the receiver.

push it in to the front and as you press down the rear of it make sure that the has tube release lever is set so that the rear of the gas tub will slide straight down into the gas block.

Have you flipped up the switch towards then front and moved the bracket forward down the barrel? After that you can tap the rear of the hand guard with a rubber mallet and it should slowly slide out.
