The TurboCell takes 38 ounces to fill, in case you want to be precise! I've had mine for 5 months and did its first cleaning. Was amazingly clean with no deposits that I could see. So I've had about 700 hours of runtime and no alarm light ever comes on. It should take flow rate into consideration when using a variable speed pump.

Well optimistic at best. I have very hard water and have to clean once month in the Summer. Also a 25 % solution for 15 min doesn't do much to dissolved the Calcium buildup. More like 50% for 30 minutes. Also after cleaning, you can just dump the acid/water mixture in your pool. Since turbo cells make the water alkaline Anyway. You have to add acid periodically to your water.

One thing to keep in mind is when you inspect your salt cell every 3 months, if there is no visible signs of alkaline buildup there may be no need to clean the cell with acid at that time. Each time the cell is cleaned with acid it may widen the gap between the anode / cathode plates further degrading it's maximum output over time.

Good god people please dont listen to these wanna be experts. The system has a "clean cell" light that will come on when needed. Regardless if it looks dirty or not. The cell MUST be cleaned at this time. You can have scale that is barely noticable but is affecting cell operation. Listen to the manufacture not these youtube wanna be experts.

@@Executiveinvestments- Obviously comprehension isn't your strong suit so I will quote the Hayward AquaRite 900 series manual which I have right in here in my hand. If you still don't understand the wording, i can take a snapshot and upload it as evidence. On page seven (that means page 7 if you need translation), under "INSPECT CELL" the exact wording says "in either case, inspect cell and clean if necessary". I was going to capitalize "if necessary" for emphasis but then you would have accused me of falsifying the documentation. Here is more reading you should try. On page ten (that means page 10 if you still need translation), under "Maintaining the AquaRite System"... the manual states "The AquaRite will remind you to do this by flashing the "Inspect Cell" LED after approximately 500 hours of operation. After you inspect the cell (and clean, if necessary)..." Again, I did not capitalize "if necessary" for emphasis. I never claimed to be an expert but I do have the ability to read a manual. If you need more help as to where the wording is located, please reply here and embarrass yourself even more. I think you should also check your eyesight since the systems do NOT have a "clean cell" light as you noted in your first "expert" post.

This simply means the unit was switched to read in the metric mode & PPT. Pressing the diagnostic button once will display the temperature in Celsius, with the Celsius temperature displayed, flip the switch to SUPER CHLORINATE, and then back to AUTO and that will force the unit to read Fahrenheit and PPM.

@HaywardPoolProducts
@HaywardPoolProducts 5 жыл бұрын
The only reason to shut valves is if the pool water level is above the equipment or water will pour out of the plumbing. You will need to prime the pump after you reinstall the cell since the water will leave the plumbing. The acid solution will have Calcium and will add to the calcium level in the pool. You can add the solution if you have a low calcium hardness. 150-275. If you are using a cell stand and pouring the acid solution into the cell rather than submerging the cell in a bucket it only takes about 2 quarts at the most to cover the blades.

Hi Darrell, my guess is that the check salt light also come on. The salt level needs to be between 2700-3400. Anything that deviates from those number could get a high or check salt along with a check cell light. Have the salt level checked at a local store to confirm actual salt level. After confirming the salt level do one of the following. 1. If salt level is low add salt per our table in our manual or at the direction of the pool store. 2. If salt level is high, drain the pool appropriately to obtain right level. Once you have confirmed a correct salt level take the switch from auto to off and back to auto. Wait for a click, press the diagnostic button five times for instant salt level. It will be a negative number. If the reading falls between 2700-3400 take the switch from auto to super chlorinate and back to auto to lock in the new number. This must be done while the instant salt reading is showing on the screen. If the salt level shows a salt level below 2700 or 0 my guess is the cell is bad. Contact the local pool stores for cell testing. Cells last around 3-5 years.

Good morning! Thought we'd share more about why we recommend cleaning these cells. TurboCell cleaning frequency will be dependent on several factors such as pH, calcium hardness levels of your pool water and hours of operation. The pH and calcium hardness levels are the two factors that have the greatest impact on how often your TurboCell will require cleaning. Calcium buildup (or scale), is one of the most common and serious challenges in salt chlorinated pool maintenance, partly because it typically forms first on the salt cell plates where it can remain undetected until the problem advances. Once scale forms, it lessens the effectiveness and life span of the salt cell, which can lead to premature cell replacement. If interested, here's a link to a nice blog article on the topic: blog.hayward-pool.com/maintenance/how-to-clean-your-hayward-salt-chlorinator-turbo-cell/.

I have an Hayward Accurite with Turbo Cell chlorine generator. It is recently giving a reading of HOT and does not appear to be generating chlorine can anyone help as to what the problem may be. The electronic panel or is it the cell?

It looks like you guys got the end of the cord wet. You need to be more careful.

A bad thermistor on the board causes this. If you know someone who can solder, it could save you hundreds of dollars. Aqua-Rite Thermistor AS32 2R025.( Pack of 2) Inrush Current Limiter 2 Ohm Ohm ±25% 1.18" (30mm)

Does the unit quit working when the "check cell" info is displayed? I am not seeing a salt level, worried about decreasing the chlorine until I can get to cleaning it in a few days. With all of the rain, chlorine levels are critical. Thanks.

I don't actually have a Hayward Salinator, but when the time comes to replace mine (if/when) I will certainly consider Hayward. Your video was very thorough and easy to follow - thanks for putting it out there.

Funny how some people want to add an i where there isn't one ('pectorial' instead of 'pectoral'), and how many times do fitness pros say 'come up one vertebrae (!) at a time' -- but on this occasion the word loses a letter. Who knows why?

Absolutely no problem with the readings. Everything is perfect except for the available chlorine is zero.? I am getting no signal that there’s something wrong. Plenty of salt but it’s not making cooling and it’s not telling me there’s anything wrong so what to do ???
