Hannah, I like the idea that you took the before and after picture. I do that sometimes just to show my son's What I did and how bad it was before and letting it go for so long. I've done that a couple of times with many things. I learned my lesson. It just makes the job that much harder when I do do it. Wow great job! One tip I'd like to add is to line the bottom of your oven with foil under the burner. It catches all the drips and helps make cleaning a little easier. That's one shiny oven!

Yep, I've been there too! I used to be bad about procrastinating about deep cleaning my oven, and that made it even harder to clean! Luckily I'm good at maintaining big it now, and I'll have to try this way!

I too didn't' want to use the toxic stuff, plus after reading everything it shouldn't touch, I tried your method and yes will always use the baking soda way. My oven also was pretty bad. Also when I found another site that said to use thicker baking soda combination, your makes more sense being thinner the thicker is quite something to remove. Thank you for your video.

Any ideas what I should do if I left some of the baking soda and water paste in the oven and continued baking with it for several weeks. Will spraying vinegar on it and cleaning it ok to do at this point?

Have you tried a razor blade scraper (not a hook style paint scraper)? If the baking soda and vinegar like Hannah did doesn't work, use the baking soda and vinegar but lightly and evenly run the razor blade scraper along the glass to remove the baking soda/vinegar. You probably want check to make sure the scraper wouldn't void the oven's warranty before trying this (be especially careful around the edge where the metal meets the glass in case there's a gasket there). I've had good luck using the scraper between full oven cleanings.

Cityof Oaks I haven’t really tried much more than oven cleaner - which is awful and stinky and didn’t even work LOL! I do have a razor like you described, I’ll try it as well. Thanks for your reply! :)

my glass is shocking so Im making a paste and leaving it on for 10 hours ...I never used to wait over night Id just start scrubbing ..thanks so much Im always going to wait ..ill let you know how I got on

Something I noticed with all the videos that I washed for this process is they all star on the outside door first instead of the inside and working their way out I was suggest that to protect your clothes

My oven is worse than that and I was just thinking I need to get it done before the holidays. I've always used the self clean feature ( with windows open ) for ventilation. Can you guys tell me why many people don't use that feature anymore? Is it the high heat or the fumes? Just wondering. I've been married and keeping house for 33 years but am always ready to learn new ways of doing things :-)
