To anyone who struggles with cleaning and often feels overwhelmed/can't keep up, even after receiving all the standard advice of "take it 1 step at a time, do it in parts" etc. Investing in a robot vacuum has literally been such a game changer. As someone who used to sweep & vacuum over 3x/week, my friends got me a robot vacuum for Christmas. It helps so much with pets, and acts as a motivator to tidy up my clutter so that the robot can navigate my space. You don't even have to get a name-brand one, there's some out there for $100 or so that work great :)

this little f*cker needs regular cleaning tho, especially if you have long hair, it's like one room, and then it doesn't move, cause hair is all around rotating parts 🥲 so you need to unscrew everything and remove hair\dust that's my experience at least

@@sakurazukamorisubaru Can I just say, I have three cats- one long haired, and two house rabbits who scatter hay everywhere, in a tiny home, and my robot vac only needs a little daily maintenance, none of which involves unscrewing anything, and the time that’s saved by keeping my floors 90% cleaner more than makes up for what is 5 minutes of unwinding some hairs from the sweeper bits daily, and once a week clearing the wheels of debris. I think you need a batter robot vac- look for one that can deal with pets- they manage hair so much better.

But since I discovered multipurpose cleaner, it makes everything SO much easier, so I basically can clean my entire home with just 1 product And ah, reusable wipes all the ways! The only disposable wipe I use is an eletrostatic one that can make my mirrors perfect (without that fabric little treads) but I can reuse it a couple times too

One thing I do for really old, sticky oil (like on range hood) is to rub it with some fresh cooking oil and then wash that off. The sticky, rancid oil breaks down and mixes with the new oil (like dissolves like) and then the fresh oil is easier to clean off with soapy water.

I’ll give you the same advice my Rheumatoid Arthritis Dr gave me. Don’t push yourself too hard. Pick one room a day, clean it, dust, organize, declutter, vacuum or mop and just give it a really thorough cleaning. Take breaks if you need to. There are things that need to be done every day, like dishes and taking out the trash, toilets you clean as often as needed, but bathrooms don’t need a deep clean every day. One room a day with just picking up other rooms, keeps the house clean and allows you to not have to be cleaning all the time. I literally used to vacuum, scrub floors, change the bedding on my bed, clean the toilet, tub and sinks, wipe down counters and cupboards…every day! He said I was killing mystic and he was right!

When we use to have cats before our twins lol I use to clean good once a week now it’s like once a month. Keeping up with cats is easier but I love the kids and the fact that it’s my kids now. When they get older and can help clean up then maybe we’ll add a cat or two again. My spouse and I had cats most of the time of our marriage but we were blessed with twins and gave our cats to a close family member because it was to much at the time. Now they have grown to love the cats so we can’t take them back.

This is great - some really good ideas here - I just wanted to note that where I live (Toronto) most apartment and condo buildings do NOT allow you to sweep any dirt over the side of your balcony, or especially dump water so it pours over the edge (!), because then it just all ends up on your downstairs neighbours’ balconies, or even all down the side of the building. So although doing that feels satisfying for your own cleaning, it’s better to sweep into a dustbin and throw it away, and mop with a bucket in such a way that the water isn’t pooling over the edge, but just using enough water to clean your own space.

An actual real deep clean complete with genuine embarrassment with an attitude of "oh well" = most busy housekeepers. Thanks so much for this chill and great cleaning video. Was very calming for me after a long day at work. 😎 I love seeing how other ppl clean and the ideas we switch between us in the comment section. I do many of the same things you do and some a little differently. (Stop here if you don't want to read my 7 routines/tricks below, thanks 🙃) Per a tip for cleaning the toilet: I use toilet paper to wipe away the dust and loose bits 1st too but I also use it as my tool for the actual wiping part with cleaner. Toss in the bowl, grossness gets flushed away, which means I don't have to clean a dirty tool afterward or use a bunch of paper towels or continue to smell & see it in the trash even for just a few more minutes until I change the trashbag; I just get rid of it asap! I use juuuust enough toilet paper as a barrier between my hand and the yuck. Then I take my shower and clean my shower 1st, then me. So my toilet is always last. I enjoy cleaning my shower area so I don't think of it as a chore. I try to shower last so I can dry wipe major water-pooled spots like the shower caddy. So after I'm dry I just use that towel to pass over the still really drowned spots. I wash my shower curtain once a week in hot water and vinegar. I spray high traffic touch areas with a disinfectant every night (controls, light switches, knobs, etc). If I used a candle, I'll blow it out, outside so the smoke doesn't change the entire purpose of me burning that candle. I tried other snugging techniques but the other snuffings, to my great unfortunate discovery, still release smoke anyway. So it's just quicker and simpler for me to walk the candle outside and blow it out, out there, so the smoke can JUST LEAVE. (If it's super late I'll just put my lid back on and keep up with the soot so the buildup doesn't get too bad. I can't stand a dirty candle.) When the sun is shining bright, I like to lay out my toilet tools (scrub brush, plunger, holder, etc.) in the sun to dry after I clean them outside. (I also do this with my trashcans so they can air out before I replace the liner.) Think about it. You can remove stains (even poop stains from infant clothes) just by leaving them in the sun for awhile so I definitely use the sun's power every chance I get. After wet mopping and rinsing the mop and bucket out, I'll sit the mop in a solution mix of bleach for a few minutes then rinse both and hang to dry outside with the mop bucket turned over. After everyone has gone to sleep so they are no longer using the bathroom, I'll put some wonderful cleaner like fabulouso or pine allen in my toilet bowl and leave the lid up & the door open a crack just for the scent in the room. Since our bathroom is halfway down our hallway & we have to pass it between bedrooms and other living areas, trust me, this idea is purely: Lovely❣💯

That was really helpful! Thank you! Finally a person who seperate cleaning into sections, so it gets really easy to organise the things and not get overwhelmed. I also liked that you use natural products that we all have in our homes such as lemons, or vinegar. This is something that I absolutely will give it a try, starting from tomorrow!!🎉

I'm embarrassed to admit I had a knee-jerk reaction of frustration before I asked myself... why? Why is it a bad thing for you to prioritize family over schoolwork? I was a public high school student ten years ago and then went to college for four years, and while I wouldn't trade any of it, I'm still having to unlearn a lot of the stressed-out and messy lifestyle by watching videos like this. @vaderladyl
@vaderladyl 2 жыл бұрын
@@JJ-of7hz You can deep clean as often as you want but usually it is done depending on how dirty things get. Many people do it every six months to 9-12 months at the least. Things like blinds, curtains, rugs for example can be done every 6 -12 months more or less. Oven, fridge, shampooing upholstery, from 3 to 6 month or more often and so on.

doubles in weight? pretty sure that's wrong, I don't have a mattress protector and I have never vacuumed my mattress (I never heard of vacuuming a mattress before in my life, and I don't think mine is even vacuumable?) and I've had it for 10+ years and I can still easily pick it up, it is definitely NOT 4x it's weight, or even 3x.

It takes me on average 6 hours on a day off while motivated and highly caffeinated to clean an 800 square foot basement apartment with one bedroom and one bath (no stops)! lol! That's Just for a point of reference for anyone else who feels overwhelmed at times lol! That's the dishes all the laundry, sweep, vaccume and mop the floors and deep clean my fridge and reorganize my entire closet and dresser as well as just wash down everything and organize the kitchen and the bathroom entirely scrub the bath the toilet the sink etc, water the plants, wash the windows and mirrors lol....it's basically one working day. It's a lot, but it's worth it. The SNEAKY bit is KEEPING it that way! I've turned to putting little passive aggressive notes around the house for both myself and my partner to KEEP IT CLEAN LMFAO! Like....RINSE DISHES AFTER EACH USE AND BE THANKFUL YOU WERE ABLE TO MAKE A MEAL! Right above the sink and a little heart after LMFAO! It's tough love for the both of us because we cook SO much and both hate doing it lmfao....even though once it's done each time I ask myself why I procrastinated in the first place!!! Gahh! Sometimes you gotta just let it be messy and learn to get out and find some joy outside of the home too! It's good to have a balance ESPECIALLY if you both work a lot!

Krist!!! This video is so good. Thank you. We recently had to let our cleaning lady go 😢 as much as I tried to work with her, homegirl was not clicking with my definition of “clean”. Cleaning is such a huge part of my zen and if it’s not done with love and attention to detail, it only creates more anxiety for me. Now that I’m looking for someone, I have to clean while balancing work, building my KZbin channel, cooking and family time. This video is gold!! First, *swept* is the past tense of sweep :). Lol second, LOVE the video. I've been reminding myself to slow things down and take them a day at a time a lot lately and seeing this cleaning was 😌😌😌 so love that for all of us. Also, love that this focused on and not decluttering. I will, however, be scouring your channel to see if there is a video about decluttering, as well as checking out kynd kare. Another thing I meant to make note of: your cat's litter! It looks like you use a rather generic brand-- no shade or anything, BUT, have you tried pretty litter? It's odor free, ships right to your door each month, and all you have to do is scoop the poop out each day and stir the litter. It was created by this person who lost their cat to a UTI so it also comes w/ a color scale that tracks the pH of your cat's urine and signifies if there are any problems you should potentially be aware of!! Isn't that literally so cool? Anyway-- just thought I would share that since it's changed life and I never have to worry about buying litter since it just ships to my door every month. :))))
