I love that you let your oven actually get dirty to show how well the cleaner works. Don't y'all hate channels that do these "cleaning" videos and the items aren't even dirty? Thanks for being real ladies! Tip: I take my racks out, put cleaner on them and place them in a black thick lawn care trash bag. Set outside in the sun, wait about an hour and you can rinse away the gunk with a water hose. Effortless!

Yes, it was a mess because we had been processing tallow almost everyday for a week. Nothing gets your oven greasier than melting pure fat. it would be less work if they used water instead of vinegar to make a paste. even less work if they used washing soda instead of baking soda, though they'd probably want to wear gloves then. If you're going to use the foamy reaction of vinegar and baking soda to help with cleaning, only use it when one or the other has already been applied to the item you're cleaning.

My oven is 10 years old currently and gets heavy daily use. Looks almost exactly how it did when new. My nanna always wiped hers out with just white vinegar on a clean towelling rag while the oven was still a bit warm after every use for cooking. I have done the same for over 20 years. It takes a few minutes. No smells either. Oven never gets bad enough to have to scrub hard. I also line my oven floor with foil for preventing any baked on spills. Your mix is similar to mine. I use it for shower glass and tiles. Best thing ever. Especially for hard water stains/limescale.

One suggestion, to make things a bit easier, most ovens have a lift-off door. You can tell by looking at the hinge. With the door open, you literally lift the hinges and the door will unhook. If you’re going through the process (maybe, once yearly) you can remove the 4 screws on the inside of the door and access the inside to clean the interior of the glass.

I had baked-on grease on a glass toaster-oven door that just would not come off at all, no matter what I tried, physical or chemical. Then I read about vinegar and baking soda. I left it on the door for three days, occasionally spraying white vinegar on to keep it active, and adding a little baking soda here and there. I was encouraged to keep going because I could see the baked on grease starting to dissolve. MIRACLE. It all came off, no scrubbing needed. I use this mixture a lot, and will now trying with Dawn, too. The only thing about cleaning the oven with this, which I do, is that it really takes work to get all the baking soda off, especially without a friend.

Catherine, thank you for bringing attention on how to use a razor blade properly. I was a little concerned especially for any scratches to the glass door. My husband is a retired painter and he trained me how to make sure surfaces are wet before using a razor on them and always with a holder for them, as well. I keep it in a safe place in my kitchen. I am impressed with this video though. I, like one other reply here, have custom made painted cabinets that also house double ovens. I was told early on when they were new not to use the clean feature (Bosch ovens) as the temperature on some ovens can reach 900 degrees. It truly scared me on many levels and especially my cabinetry. Ladies, thank you for your video.

I tried this method today! Its definitely a good non toxic oven cleaning solution, it made everything sparkle like new! I used my leftovers to scrub out my kitchen sink when I was done. I dont know if my oven just hadn't been cleaned in years but I did have to do quite a lot of scrubbing. Probably took me 2.5hrs to scrub and rinse everything and I'm still not sure I rinsed everything 🤣 hope it will be okay when I turn the oven on! There are some spots I was not able to get off so I'll have to try the razor blade method when I clean my oven next time... thanks for the tips!!!

@@aminakishk6571 Excellent point, Amina. Most apartments are all electric and foil is known to be a conductor of electricity. I believe, however, aluminum foil won’t catch fire until it reaches approximately 1220 Fahrenheit (660 Celsius), which could possibly apply to gas ovens. Thank you for sharing, because t's something we should all be cautious of and to do our own research especially in the event of a potential hazard.
