I did this today, but I put a cling film on it, so that the paste doesn't dry, and left it like that for a few hours. After that, I easily scrubbed it and wiped it

It was a pain to remove it. It took me 3 hours of rinsing all the soap out. It just kept sudsing up. Overall it worked well but the best advice is to not let your oven get so dirty. I didn’t have that much of an issue with the smell afterwards like others had mentioned. Just make sure the heating element is cleaned off if any of the mixture gets on it. Overall 7/10

Skip the vinegar in the bowl. Use the soap and soda paste. Then most the vinegar over it. Works so much better. I personally just use oven cleaner. But this works too, my mother does it twice a year

Hot dang ... It works I just did it I made it more liquidity as I don't want it drying as it is a pain to clean , some elbow grease 💪 but it looks beautiful ❤️ I suggest the other method of a dishwasher tablet it's on you tube... Good luck.

I always clean with baking soda and vinegar ,but just couple drops of dawn dish soap . I just want to tell you that is too much of dish soap ,have in mind that soap is soooo much concentrated so wonder how long you would need to rinse of .😅

Baking soda is alkaline which is good for organic stains and vinegar is acidic, good to remove water spots, calcium build up, etc…. Not so sure if applying both is a good idea even though the end results were amazing.

The first time I did this I did too much of it. ANNDDD it took forevvvvvvvvvvvvvER to clean. The video I watched I guess said double the portion. I was like never again but this portion seems to make more sense and easier to clean. Maybe I'll try again.

I once mixed too much water with the baking soda. I poured the runny mixture into the oven and left it till the next day and most of the dirt and grease came up when I went to scrap the dried up mixture.

Baking soda and vinegar neutralize each other. If you combine them together you'll essentially just get salt and water, which is useless for cleaning. 1. First, combining baking soda and water, and use that paste for heavy grime. 2. Then - you can use vinegar, soap, and water to clean the rest. Don't combine baking soda and vinegar in the same step x_x

Do not use that much soap, I used way less and still spent forever wiping the soap out. It didn’t really clean well, my oven is A year old, thought I would try this before it got nasty like some people. Was a lot of work.

What a stupid quantity of Dawn. It took me forever to clean the bloody oven after this mixture and the residue of the dishwashing liquid still remains! No amount of rinsing was getting rid of the soapy suds.

Um…no. Use washing soda and water for the paste. Then use vinegar, a little dish soap, and water after scrubbing the paste and wiping it off. Vinegar and baking soda neutralize. So much misinformation on the internet, even for cleaning “hacks”!

DO NOT USE THIS! This recipe is not right, I tried this and my whole apartment REEKS! It’s just bad, A) too much soap for 1 oven B) it does not just “wipe off” it takes so much water and wiping to get this off b/c it’s dawn so it just makes more and more soap bubbles. I wiped for like an hour & when I turned the oven on next it just smells like those harsh chemicals I was trying to avoid. PLEASE DO NOT USE!

This is waaaaay too much dish soap... you only need a few drops. Also, baking soda and vinegar cancel each other out, so you'll want to use them separately and only mix them with water.

If you have soft water at your home, I recommend you do not try this! With this amount of dish detergent in the mix, even with some great microfiber cloths, it took me literally a couple of hours to get all the soap out of my oven. It just wouldn’t go away, no matter how much I wiped! I scrubbed and scrubbed and scrubbed with the stainless steel too, but it still did not get it super clean. Will have to try a different way next time.

That's just water, salt and dawn liquid soap. That supposedly cool reaction is the baking soda reacting with the vinegar to form water 🙄
