This is helpful. I had to look up what a "tilde" was. For computer-challenged people, it is "~" to the left of the "1" key. I also get "back-slash" (/) and "forward-slash" (\) confused. I know how to spell "library", thankfully, and "Caches" is not $...

I just type "/ Library / Extensions" in the path searcher. By typing this you can choose between "/ Library " and "/ System / Library" , which are *two different things*. ***Absolutely never, ever mess with "/ System / Library" unless you're 1000% certain what you're doing.*** My guess is that the cache files are on both libraries tho. Also... The "user library" (in your home folder) is a joke, you cannot access nothing. The problem, all 3 library files look and are named identically, do NOT mess up. Apple hide the real libraries on purpose and it drives me absolutely nuts! >:(

@StringMembrane - actually, he said back-slash when he meant forward-slash! The forward slash leans forward (/) and the back-slash leans backwards (\).

As Alexeev highlighted, the first folder you cleared is the cache pertaining to your user only, and the second is the cache for the system globally. Hence why the second folder still had things inside it.

Those two folders aren’t the same filepath, which is why clearing the first cache didn’t clear the second one. The first one was ~/Library and the second one was /Library. First one was your user library and the second one was the system library-VERY different

There are two separate Cache folders: 1. When You type Library/Caches : It opens Cache Folder inside of Library folder. 2. When You open through Macintosh Hard disk: It opens Cache folder inside SYSTEM [System/Library/Caches] That's why some files were still present inside System/Library/Caches even when you deleted library/Caches files.
