1. Always use a case just like every phone. 2. Battery never drop below 50%. 3. Always charge until 80% Max. 4. Clean your MacBook always. 5. Not using it.

the setting in the battery menu, Optimized Battery Charging, will stop your macbook charging at 80% until you tell it to fully charge it, and when it reaches 80 the laptop switches to AC power only. when you're using your macbook as your primary computer at a desk, this will help the battery last a lot longer over time.

Silver is the only option in which what you see see is the actual color of the material, aluminum. All the other colors are covering the aluminum, including starlight. That's why, if you scratch them, even if it's just by using the ports, you'll always see silver/aluminum under. Summing up, in the long term, the safest choice is Silver.

Bro what about gold colour in MacBook Air M1
@jorditordera
@jorditordera 2 ай бұрын
@@Universal-ID Among the non-silver colors, Gold would be the closest to silver and therefore would the one that best stands the test of time. However, it is still a color additionally painted over the aluminum, so I guess that it would eventually wear off too.

@@jorditordera Bro thanks for the response...I am thinking of buying a MacBook Air M1 in 2024 like end of June (India)... I'm in a dilemma in term of colour Gold is the most good looking colour among the three in MacBook Air M1 (Gold, Sliver & Space grey) but as a long term perspective which one should I get space grey is out because the owner of the video said it's not worth it sliver is good but it's the most common colour in MacBooks...what's your thought on this???

@@Universal-ID Always happy to help! I am person who really loves to take care of his devices, like if it they were a newborn baby. The moment I take them out of the box, before I even turn them on for the first time, I put protection cases on them. I keep them clean, and use micro-fiber clothes to keep them clean and free from dust. I am telling you all this so you know how much I take care of them. Normally, all the MacBooks I have owned, have lasted me about 8 to 10 years. I understand that newer colors look cooler and might bring and added value, but I think that this added value might disappear if the color wears off with time, just by making regular use of the ports or by resting the palms of your hands. And one last piece of advice: again, Apple products are expensive, but they can last a long time, so, unless you are on a really tight budget, I strongly recommend you that you get the latest model available at the time of purchase. This ensures that you will be able to use the latest MacOS for a longer number of years. Also, as you know, Macs cannot be upgraded once you get them. So, again, as long as you can afford it, try to get as much RAM and Storage as possible. You might not need it now, but, again, in the long term, you will be thankful for that investment on extra storage and RAM. My personal recommendation: 16GB of RAM and, at least 512 GB of storage (ideally 1 TB). Summing up, if I were you I would get an M3 MacBook Air, with 16GB of RAM and 512 to 1 TB of storage. Hope this helped...

I really don't think Macs, now that we are in 2023, will overcharge. Ive seen for myself that when your Mac hits 100% charge, it actually stops charging and uses power from Its adapter. This can be proved by going to the system report (Ventura) and under power It will say charging: no, and also I've seen it discharge if it needs to down to 90%.
@DM-sc4zy
@DM-sc4zy Жыл бұрын
Then when it drops a tad below 100% it will start charging again, keeping the charging level at 100% is not a good idea and will be detrimental to battery longevity. use Al dente to set the charging limit to 50% if you use it like a desktop.

And all other options were in premium so i delete the app.... And i have one more question we can not stop the battery cycle despite what ever we do so why not just use optimised charging and charge laptop to 80 then unplug and use it to 20%
@TRXOfGreenville
@TRXOfGreenville Жыл бұрын
@@ashankhan1188 I would just let your Mac handle it, remember that the apple engineers who put your Mac together made it designed to be plugged in at 100% and whatever other types of use. I would just use it normally and not worry about the 20-80 rule and maintaining the battery because in the end you will have to replace the battery even if you did the 20-80 rule. Thanks

My wife just got her first MBA. My sense is that plugging the laptop into a charger is not the same as charging the battery because the so-called charger is just a variable power supply and the actual charging circuit is inside the laptop. So set it up to Optimal Power Charging if you can afford the shorter battery life in your use case and let the machine cycle between 20% and 80% of battery charge which seems to be friendliest to the battery chemistry. As recommended by Li-Ion battery manufacturers and EV car manufacturers! P.S.: Back in the day, I used IBM Thinkpads with removable batteries in a primarily desktop use case. I used to physically disconnect the battery unless needed and the battery capacity was still super high years later.

I bought my macbook air m1 for almost 3 years now & it still as good as the first time I use it.. the memory swap is going to take effect on a 256gb storage for about 40 plus years & that is more than my lifetime dude.. the battery is easily replaceable by just ordering battery online & watching youtube for tutorials.. I also have thunderbolt 3 that has a speed of 40gbps ssd enclosure to install a bootable macOS so I can have more storage also to save my internal ssd from being worn out.. I also have an app called aldente charge limiter to keep my battery charged to only 60 to 70% & bypass my battery then use my charger to power my macbook.. but after 3 years I decided to unplug the power & use my battery & use my internal ssd like a normal laptop.. macbook air is the laptop that suits almost all the needs of the non techy users & non gamers.. my macbook air m1 is the perfect laptop to my needs.. I am just a small time online seller so I won't be needing a powerful laptop.. I guess my macbook air is going to be my first & last laptop but only God knows hot long will I be..

So much conflicting advice on if you should leave the charger in. Some videos say you should leave in the charger to slow down your power cycles. Equally as many videos say you should plug out your charger to keep your battery active. Which method do I pick? :/ From personal experience with my old ASUS laptop, I leave my charger in all the time. After about 6-8 years of use, my total battery life is extremely poor at around 1 hour 45 minutes. However, my battery life wasn't very high to begin with. According the ChatGPT, my battery life should be around 5 hours. Also, I checked my charge cycles. Seems I have only used a bit over 300 charge cycles. So even my own experience is giving me a contradicting solution. From my experience, it seems that leaving my charger in all the time has resulted in me having used much less charge cycles than expected, but also having much less battery health than I would expect to have after using that number of charge cycles.

Great video Arthur!!! One thing that troubles me, is when a MacBookPro is treated like a desktop and is connected to a display and placed on a vertical stand. That’s when I’m worried about the upcoming heat. I’m afraid that when exposed to long periods of time like so, it could damage the circuit connections. I would really like to know what’s your opinion about such a situation and generally about vertical stands!

The joys of actually being able to fix your own computer if it gets dirty/breaks👍 Some Mac users are just unbelievably stupid. Putting a thick rubber case, screen protector (for a non touch screen laptop!?), a keyboard/palmrest cover, and a trackpad cover to prevent wear is just paranoia to the next level. The irony of making a computer ugly and cheap to prevent a few scratches that a bit of caution will prevent just fine.

It's like buying the sharpest quality knife in the world ... and trying to cover the blade with some "protection" because you're scared the sharpness will decrease ... Macbook philosophy could be compared to owning an expensive car ... That is not at all how it works lol leaving a battery at 100% is terrible for them if your MacBook stays at 80% it's alright but if you use your phone plugged in while charging at 100% unless it stops using battery power which I don't think any do you are still getting battery cycles worse ones infact because 100% is tough on lipo batteries.
