How to Clear Your File Explorer “Recent Files” History in Windows 11
You’ve probably noticed that File Explorer keeps a list of files and folders you’ve recently opened, displaying them at the bottom of the File Explorer window. It’s handy, for sure, but there are times you’ll want to clear that file history. Here’s how to do it.
If you really don’t like Windows keeping that history at all, you can turn off recent items and frequent places altogether. If you do like having your history around, it’s nice knowing that you can occasionally clear it out and start from scratch. To do it, you’ll use the Folder Options dialog, which also gives you control of a lot of other interesting features.

When you open Quick Access in Windows 11 File Explorer, you may notice that you can see all of your recently visited files and folders in a list. While it’s a quite handy but there are times when they lead to a pretty nasty privacy breach, for example, you visited a personal folder. Some other user also has access to your PC then he or she might be able to access your personal files or folders based on your recent history using the quick access in File Explorer.
This tutorial will apply for computers, laptops, desktops, and tablets running the Windows 11 operating system (Home, Professional, Enterprise, Education) from all supported hardware manufactures, like Dell, HP, Acer, Asus, Toshiba, Lenovo, Samsung, and Huawei.

God damned MS. I can't clear the most recent single file. All the earlier files others I can. And there was a glitch in your video right at the critical moment at 0:30 I am making the switch to Linux Mint. In the long run it will be worth it.
